This is not a shot at Diggs as it doesn't even seem right to me that he's given up the most yardage. I don't know how you can accomplish that without it being painfully obvious on the field. He doesn't seem to me like a completion waiting to happen. Not at all.

But it's unacceptable to give up the most yards.

11 interceptions is also undeniable. That is special.

It's the oddest year I've seen from a Cowboy and I honestly don't know how to feel about it.

Life is full of tradeoffs.

He gets so many INTs because teams also know they can get yardage on him.

With how the game has changed to favor the pass, getting INTs is more important than ever, and giving up yards less important than ever. You're going to give up yards regardless, but INTs are *generally* harder to come by.

I hope the football quants do a win% analysis for the passing game, and by implication, interceptions, over time. I'd like to see that one.

The NFL went to a 16 game season in 1978, so Walls had a 16 game season. He didn't start the whole year though.

I just don't recall diggs getting beat a bunch. Sure he's given up some plays, including the one in Washington which was kinda luck. But I just don't remember him getting beat a lot. Even if he did he's facing some very good wide receivers.

I don't think diggs will ever be a shutdown Revis type corner. But if he can hold his own while being a ballhawk his whole career I'll take it.

If you noticed when they introduced our defense they showed the PFF ranking with each player and Anthony Brown was in the 30s I believe at the position while Diggs was in the 80s. Brown had a much higher grade.
That should say it all. Brown has improved, but he is not in Digg’s league.

Everson Walls' game lived and died on interceptions/long completions.
As long as he gets the INTs at the right time, he rocks.

A season explanation easily summed up in 2 back to back plays.

The NE game.
Gets a pick 6.
Gives up a 75 yard TD.

Next year, there will be less of both.
Diggs is a stud player. Soon, opponents will leave him alone.

What do you make of an NFL quarterback that is willing to gamble getting that yardage despite a very high probability that they are going to give the ball game away with a devastating INT at precisely the wrong time.

Don't just look at the INT's themselves. Diggs has WR skills when it comes to running after the catch. He has 142 yards in INT returns. He has scored the same or more TD's than 8 NFL receivers with 50 or more receptions this year including Cole Beasley.

Now let's look at this "most yardage" nonsense so I can put it in a real perspective.

Thus far, Diggs has given up 899 yards in opponent receptions. Seems like a lot but wait a minute. That is 60 yards a game while covering the opponents most dangerous receivers in most cases. He typically follows the deep threat guys so of course these yards will come in chunks.

I'll bet if you take that yardage and subtract any INT return yardage you will find a real shake up in the rankings.

I'm going to just stop replying to people that have more posts than likes when they come at me like this.

Post some quality content, get a good ratio going, and maybe I'll consider you worth a few seconds to reply.

:lmao::lmao:

A perfectly plausible strategy, and your personal favorite, for getting likes on this board is to make hundreds of posts about how much Dak sucks, DLaw sucks, the defense sucks, MM sucks, KM sucks, JJ sucks, Dak is an overpaid bum, Zeke sucks, LVE sucks, ABrown sucks….etc etc etc lmao

Just take any topic referential to the Dallas Cowboys, especially Dak, and add the word “sucks” at the end of it and you’ll garner “likes lmao. The fact you think this is indicative of erudition and savvy acuity tells me that the smoothness of your brain is more emergent than I thought. Ideally, I am going to need to operate within the hour. What’s your schedule?

Doesn't he also have (or had a couple weeks ago) the most passes broken up? I think there were a few plays that the yards were attributed to him but it wasn't clear that it was his man. An example of this was last week. Kazee clearly had the deep inside responsibility. At the catch, Diggs was outside and maybe slightly trailing. Kazee needs to be there, but it is probably logged as Diggs' man. Give me two of him and I'll be happy
