I don't want to see him go, however we can NOT utilize a first round pick on a Wr. What are your thoughts on a possible replacement for coop. Give me your thoughts please....

It don't matter.

We just need a body for the next year or so.

We'll worry about WRs in year 3 or 4 of Daks contract. That's when we can get some real guys in here ready for a real QB to take over.

This is a great question. I don't see Lamb as a #1 at this point. Cannot spend another first round on a WR. I do believe we need WRs who can block.

Yes block but also be reliable. We need a shifty guy in there as well that can threaten a defense

The 3 year plan my friend.

Check out the post I made on it.

The goal should be that when Dak's off the books in 3 years we have a solid foundation in place for a real QB to take over.

We use the next 3 years for getting out of bad contract, not signing bad contacts, and rebuilding things that need rebuilt. Dak is just a placeholder. Zero "win now" moves.

Why can't we use a first round pick on a WR? By the time the draft rolls around, Gallup, Wilson, Brown and Turner may all be signed with other teams. That leaves CeeDee and Cooper on the roster. Seem to me that makes WR and big priority. In fact, the Cowboys should have an eye on replacing Cooper in 2023 if they keep him in 2022.

But as always, it depends on who is available when they draft at 24. IMO, the most immediate need is LG. But they can probably find a good LG in the second round too, although this is a position they do not want to miss on.

I could also argue they should draft a TE in the first round. I know, I know. Never use a 1st round pick on a TE. Memories of David LaFleur come to mind. But the Cowboys need a really good TE who can block, run after catch, and open up the field for whoever the WRs are. If that guy is available in the first round I have no problem drafting him.

We'll have to see who is left on the roster after the free agency period expires to know what the priorities will be but I suspect there will be a few come April.

I don't want to see us utilize a 1st round pick on a WR either. As far as a replacement, the logical choice would be Lamb. But, he needs to work on his dropsies!!

Of course I only read a few lines. Your post was only a few lines lol

Your post was asking about a possible replacr for Cooper. My reply was "Who said he was going anywhere"

If followed this team, you would know by now that they dont make that kind of cut. They paid him, they will stick with him

A guy I would consider is George Pickens from Georgia....in the draft. If you cut or trade Cooper...and are able to resign Gallup and Wilson...your getting younger @ the position....saving money....and as a group....just might be better.

If we assume Gallup comes back due to his injury then I would say between Turner and Wilson they should be able to handle the load. I mean what is the net loss IF he goes? All I remember seeing from Turner is him weaving 65 yds after the catch. That has to mean something. Wilson will only be better IMO after filling in for Gallup. We are in "good hands".

How about they make sure to keep him and actually build him into the offensive scheme as a no.1 WR and work everything else off that? It's strange that in 2018 when we got him, Dak looked for him religiously and it paid off. Now? I'm not sure why he's not targeted like before.
