Watching the last two weeks, I was AMAZED how many times a WR for (name the team) caught a horizontal pass out wide....sometimes at a complete stop....and then had enough burst to pick up a quick 7-8 yards before tackled....I was shocked. We simply do not have this type of receiver...especially when given that our QB cannot hit them on the right side of their body. I think we are severely over rating out current bunch....I kind of always believed this, but man was it confirmed over the past two weekends. I guarantee that Booger and Chuckles will go out and resign Gallup and hold onto Cooper....we can do better....but don't trust these two to do so.
Amazing....

Malik Turner is the most shifty receiver we have. I would like to see him signed and play the slot receiver. Lamb is next and Cooper is really smooth runner but not as quick. Wilson is pretty fast but he looks like he is jogging, kinda odd. Noah Brown should add a little more weight and play TE. Can't be any worse at blocking than Schultz

I think some of the problem is something I have been complaining about since Garrett was here, which is those constant comeback routes. I do not mind comeback routes, but they run them so often and that helps the defensive backs so much both in defending the ball as well as tackling.

Teams like the Chiefs, Bengals, Rams, Packers, etc. have offenses that attack vertically. Again, vertically does not always mean 20+ yards down the field, but rather throwing and completing passes with the receiver headed toward the endzone either directly or via slant.

When you are known for attacking vertically, it makes the defensive backs more hesitant to jump comeback routes which means those few times you call a comeback route, your receiver not only has a few yards of buffer between himself and the defender, he also has a great chance to get several yards after the catch or possibly break for a long run.
spot on

I agreed with you 100% on Turner....but Noah Brown needs to be gone 3 + years ago!!!

Got that point about vertical passing game, but a QB who wont throw the ball to a position and have to see the WR get visible separation, what can be done ? Or coaching staff who won’t call such plays and enforce those plays?

Cooper didn't looked nearly as quick this year as he did when he first came here. When he first came, he seemed to have the quickness of Beasley in a full sized WR. Just freaky. Not that guy this year. Not even close.

Agree with what you are saying..but the Cowboys struggle against good teams...for heavens sake the Offense practically gets shut down against teams like the Cardinals, 49ers etc... Only time the offense looks good is when the play the NFC east teams.

And the falcons.

- Has anyone taken notice to how Kupp is schemed so well by Rams to get open ?
The way they line him up and move him around,.... how often they move him around to various positions from slot to outside - makes it even tougher to double him and bracket him ?
And they don't shy away from trying to get him the ball - maybe to a fault.

- Kupp isn’t slow, he’s more field fast and his play speed makes him appear faster than what he 40 times - but he’s not a blazer that can str8 line up sprint right by you
with pure speed like a Javar Chase can.
i always Imagine him a bigger, lengthier Cole Beasley that can line up both wide outside as well as the slot. But Kupp affects the entire field far more than the current Beasley does

I hope nobody ever lets Kupp know that he doesn’t have enough quick twitch muscle……it will kill his confidence

Tired of seeing these worthless wide receiver screens that are tackled immediately for losses.
Tired of seeing every other team run screens effectively.Facts are we just don’t block screens well enough. Our wr’s and te’s can’t block for sh**.

Are you kidding? Kupp is loaded w/ quick twitch muscles. Fast he is not, but he has some major moves.

Go watch 2018 highlights of Cooper where he blew by defenders. Once KM took over as OC Cooper's big plays started to disappear.

Ya after watching these other WRs I’ve thought the same thing. Ceedee is shifty but he’s not going to blow past defenders like Jamaar or Tyreek. Nor do any of our WRs have the physicality of Deebo Samuel. And when you look at the separation stats we’re pretty putrid other than Dalton. And Cedric Wilson looks like he’s going to fall over trying to make a cut sometimes.

You said like Tyreek and Deebo?? No other team in the NFL has talent like Tyreek or Deebo, not just the Cowboys.

So now, Dallas, who has one the deepest and best WR groups in the league, does not have good enough WRs

come on

When will the excuses end
