What a joke.

Young: 4 pro bowls, 1 first team all pro, 627 tackles, 89.5 sacks, 0 INTs, 12 forced fumbles

Ware: 9 pro bowls, 4 first team all pro, 657 tackles, 138.5 sacks, 3 INTs, 35 forced fumbles (played 30 less games than Young)

Not sure it's exactly fair to compare a DT to a DE/3-4 OLB statistically. Ware played a glory position while Bryant did a bit more grunt work. But still, I agree that it's a joke that Ware was not first ballot.

Richard Seymour the same… dude was all decade first team but people saying he’s not deserving because he didn’t put up Ware’s stats? Dude was a DT….

Bryant Young? Have to google him
Been awhile, but if memory is correct, Jerry really wanted him and tryed putting out a trade package including Alvin Harper. 49ers moved up to 7th and we took Shante Carver. He put up 89 sacks from the DT position. He’s was a wrecking ball from the position until he broke his leg. Still not the phenomenon that was DWare!

Bryant Young was a DT not an edge rusher. Not that I disagree that Ware should have made it.. but wanted to clarify that comparing their stats is folly. Bryant Young was one maybe a handful of guys who could hold his own against Larry Allen. That alone should get you Hall of Fame votes. He was a great player.. Probably not as great at Ware.. but no slouch either.

The only fair comparison might be the Pro Bowl selections, but the different positions play a role in that as well since there are only so many players taken at each position, as does popularity, so it's hard to judge off that. However, I would say that four Pro Bowls shows that Young wasn't considered to be as dominant at his position near as long as Ware was.

Fine then. His career stats are basically in line with La’Roi Glover and worse than Steve McMichael. A lot of people in the social media comments haven’t even heard of him. Hall of FAME, ha ha. And seriously he had 1 first team all pro when guys like Willis and Thomas had 5.

Didn't say he was the best or most deserving, just that you can't compare their stats.

Seymour was a center piece in a Patriots dynasty. 3x first team all-pro, 2x second team all-pro, 57 sacks as a DT, NFL 2000s All-Decade Team.

He's on Wares level and to suggest he's not is insane. He deserves to go before Ware.

Not surprised. Michael Irvin didn't get in first ballot either.

Nothing unusual. It's only Ware's first year eligibility. Some players have to wait several years, & some over a decade to receive the nod.

There's been many times that a Dallas player was skipped over by the HOF voters, but this is by far the most ridiculous.
