This is a cute idea but it will never fly because for every injury blamed on turf there are just as many blamed on crappy grass especially late in the season as the weather send the grass into hibernation and you end up playing on dirt, mud, or frozen dirt. I don't think it's all that much safer.. but I don't play on it. If the players think their bodies would fare better on grass then that's good enough for me..
So many stadiums are multi use that it’s a bit complicated with real grass and expensive
The raiders have real grass they move in and out
But that’s a lot of valuable property taken up by field tray and in many areas you’d need a green house to keep it in

you are aware it’s 2022 right? assuming you really are unaware that grass can be grown and maintained in a dome, what does any of that have to do with fans weighing in on player safety concerns, and how does grass or turf affect your viewing experience?

Name a stadium that it is used?
The problem is the cost to do so makes it prohibited..

What kind of logic is there to grass in domed stadiums, how would that work again??
The raiders have real grass
They move it in and out of the stadium for games
But that would be super expensive for some areas
Just the spot to put it is millions of dollars worth of property and retro fitting a stadium could be many millions
It’s not as simple as just planting grass in a multi use stadium on top of sun light issues in some stadiums

you forgot Arizona, again those stadiums were recently built specific and aren't multipurpose stadiums like Jerry world.

So does Arizona, but those football specific stadiums built, that doesn't addressed dome stadiums already built nor does it address cold weather stadiums where those designs wouldn't work

soccer clubs use artificial sun light where sun is minimal on certain spots of the field. most NFL teams would need to do the entire field and it’s not cheap probably so i don’t see it happening

I don’t know if an actual dome that has fixed real grass
Las Vegas moves their field in and out
But cost would be a huge issue
I know a baseball team, I think the Blue Jays looked into it but the cost would be detrimental to do it and it's a multipurpose stadium

Retro fitting would be tens of millions not to mention a place to put the field. The raiders field weight 9500 tons

it's definitely a challenge. if the players feel it is of the utmost importance for their safety, please feel free to volunteer the NFLPA to take a percentage of player salaries to cover the cost for existing stadiums to retrofit.

The costs would be out of this world on an old stadium
Plus the fact to do a field like the raiders have you need a field sized spot to put it and that’s valuable land
The ongoing costs would be very high too
Invest in trying to develop a safer turf if that’s even possible would be much less costly

You really couldn't retrofit fit existing stadiums since structural supports, sewer, water and electrical is already run under those structures.. specific designed stadiums for natural grass have to be planned before a stadium is built for that to work and you can't grow grass in Detroit, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Green bay, Plilly, New York, Buffalo, New England etc etc just to name a few in the fall....it's a nice idea but not ever going to happen

I don't think you have to move the grass in and out. These modern venues all have windows which allow more than enough light in for grass to grow. Obviously it's just about money with most of these owners. Grass is way more expensive to maintain.. and in a multi-use venue you have to be able to either remove it or protect it when holding monster truck rallies and the like. I like the game better on grass.. But anybody who has watched one of those late season slopfests on grass knows there aint no 100% solution.

Definitely can't see it happening because of the number of indoor stadiums, but they do need to keep pushing to make fields safer.

Much like ATT, the have everything from concerts to motocross races, monster trucks and such. Some of which you couldn’t do on grass
Had to make money off a stadium if you don’t have something going on there all year
The stadiums of yesterday sat empty a lot but a stadium today is very expensive
Sofi is the most expensive but it’s 3-4 billion to build in some markets
You have to fill those seats more than 10 or so days a year and you need the versatility of a multi use stadium which make permanent grass tough
Some stadium don’t have translucent roofs, some are very cold during a big part of the season which is tough on grass

Cost to maintain a grass field is the issue, especially for venues that are domed and share the field with other sport teams. The cost would be built into tickets prices, which we complain about already.
Artificial turf technology has to improve.
