Not impressed. I've tried this before and could not follow or see half the games.

Those USFL team names certainly bring back memories from the mid eighties. All we need now is a Bobby Hebert/Chuck Fusina showdown to make it feel right.
Sign Herschel Walker. Even at 50-something he is probably still faster than players in that league...

Who was the marketing genius who thought a team with a star in its logo would go over well in Philly?
Unbelievable. There is literally nothing Philly sports fans hate more than the Star.

So confusing. Haven't they had like six leagues like this and none have lasted a year. Wasn't there a USFL a few years back?

If they want to compete with the NFL/Jethro Jones, they better get Payton Manning or Troy Aikman behind it. And mouth breather Eli. Waste of time.

Besides the NFL-ready talent on board, the old USFL had some interesting coaches -- George Allen, Steve Spurrier with the Tampa Bay Bandits, Jim Mora with the Philadelphia Stars, Chuck Fairbanks, Walt Michaels, Craig Morton with the Denver Gold, Jack Pardee with the Houston Gamblers, Marv Levy with the Chicago Blitz, Lee Corso, Frank Kush...

Franchises were coming and going. Coaches would jump to other clubs as I recall. As I mentioned, interesting if nothing else.

Isn't this Philadelphia Star nonsense a 40 year old argument? Don't understand the surprise here. They always wanted to be like Dallas anyway!

And the Philadelphia Stars won the USFL title in 1984 - why would they change that?

That NFL cheerleader on fox news is hot as heck. Not sure what team but damn she is fine. So is the girl from the old MTV show. Rachel's Campos dylley or whatever. Did Puck get that? Deagan McDowell annoys the crap out of me. Arrogant as Rogers

I'm digging the retro names and uniforms, but I still don't understand why these startup leagues put teams in cities that already have NFL squads. If they put teams in good sized cities like Austin, Columbus, and Norfolk, Virginia, they'd have a lot more fans.

The same logic that came up with the Utah Jazz.

They started out as the New Orleans Jazz. Didn't change the name when they moved to Utah. Mind boggling. Same goes for the Los Angeles Lakers. They were the Minneapolis Lakers. Moved to LA and never changed the name. That is akin to the Minnesota Northstars moving to Dallas and not taking the North out of the name.
