They can try but if he has made that public then no one else is going to be interested in a QB that is not interested in you and that 5th year option is guaranteed so Baker basically just played them.

Yeah it's one thing to request a trade, quite another to limit the market to one team. Get real, Baker. In fact, while I supported Mayfield's position in demanding a trade yesterday, if the Browns are willing to pay him $19M to be a backup that's their prerogative.

Baker Mayfield is in the bottom 5 of starting QBs and I hate making lists. Normally the QB of the Browns gets a pass because he plays for the Browns but Cleveland has been trying to win. Mayfield is the reason they have not.

Smart if the Colts grab him. Trade a turnover, injury-prone QB in Carson Wentz for another turnover, injury prone QB in Baker Mayfield.

I’m not up to date with their cap room but it would be funny if they just told him to stay home a year
