Getting rid of an overpaid but talented player accomplishes nothing if you dont use the money he was making and invest it into another position to improve your team. That's the whole point of this thread.

It seems like the front office and certain fans dont have much of a plan other than, ewww this guy annoys me; we have to get rid of him.

Trying to cover all day is about in line with some of the other logic they use.

If consistent failure doesn't tell you you're doing something wrong, what exactly will?

I don’t really get it either. I think they wanted to sign Greggory and that didn’t work so they ended up with a lot of cap space. They weren’t happy with Cooper making 20m a year so they got rid of him wanting Lamb to step up on the cheap.

I wish I knew more about the cap rules too, to me it just seams they saved 50m cash out the door and they’re going to roll it over next year to do something like cut Zeke and Lawrence.

Idk if it’s a tank year but I could see this off-season getting worse with trading down for next years first. They can grab a RB in the 3rd just to keep the run game going and build up the defense. They’ll have to rebuild the whole OL one of these years if they’re not careful.

We don’t have all that money to spend
The players we’ve let walk didn’t clear a ton of money this year. We still don’t have all that much money to spend

We kicked the can down the road on guys and then did nothing with the savings other than sign some lower fringe guys. It's downright peculiar but I bet blueblood or one of the other homers will have some bizarre defense of it.

The most puzzling thing here is OG. They literally did nothing. They knew they had to upgrade which is why they made little effort to re-sign Williams. But then they watched as competent, veteran OGs that would not have been expensive and would have helped this OL fly off the board.

Hey, we at least have the draft. All we need from the draft are immediate impact players at OG, DE, LB, WR. Easy peasy.

Making sense yet again but I don't expect much less.

The problem I have is that collectively, the moves don't seem to be in line with any type of strategy or theme to get better.

Being more committed to the run is reason to reassign Coopers money, but the Schultz deal completely shoots that down.

Moving on from entitled, lazy, underachievers sounds nice....but then offer Gregory 70 million?

If it does actually ever work out for this FO it will be by coincidence or dumb luck.....up to and including how they very much wanted Surtain or Horn over Parsons last year.

I used to have about 30 on ignore. As I add throughout the year, but after the season, I took them all off, so far so good, but I did add one, about his 10th time on it. :laugh:

I took them off, as many times they start a thread as too if a player is signed or released, or some other topic. But I can see a few will be added soon. :lmao:

I don't care what they say overall, but when the insults start, that is when they go on ignore, or if so ridiculous in their hate I put them on temporary. Otherwise all fair game give and take.
It is a good feature, but I eventually take them off, as many do have good insights at times. It is good to use for a day or so to stop an argument that goes nowhere. No matter who starts it.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But you will find, but you probably already know, this place is 90% toward the negative.

They did use the money to secure Gallup long term and sign a few other free agents they wanted to keep at other positions and last I checked games don't start this week. They have plenty of time to spend some of the cap space they have left. Who knows who will be cut or on the trade block as time goes on.

Maybe they'll roll it over into next year. They'll need the extra space if they don't restructure Dak's 50M cap hit in 2023.
