None of us, as fans, have seen enough of Simi to have a working knowledge of his abilities. it'll be interesting to learn. I would imagine for him to assume playing the position of TE, it would be like starting his career over. If so, that doesn't seem like making a world of progress can be expected.

I like what I have seen, though.

Based on what exactly?

Based on the fact that he was a late round pick who wasn’t that great in college and didn’t look good last year.

Odds are he will be an ok #4 at most and a special teams contributor. I don’t expect anything else.

I guess my point is. Hoping for Fehoko to make a big jump isn’t a sound strategy. Anything you get out of him as gravy but the team needs to bring in other options.

You're not getting what im saying, obviously. And that's ok.

Im not talking about his weight, per se.
If it’s strength he did 16 reps which is slightly above avg for a WR
He’s tall so he looks slim but he’s actually 220 so he’s not as skinny as he looks
On paper he’s very athletic though that doesn’t always means much
But it appears he’s adding weight to play TE some
If he can add 20lbs or so and keep his speed he could be a matchup nightmare if he makes the catches, learns to block and run routes
He’s a project so time will tell but the odds are against him

Being a good guy means more than ability.

I reread this. And, I do agree with that point. Gregory, and Cooper both had ability. I think it came down to how good a teammate they were at the end of the day, as to why they were ultimately allowed to walk.

Need to see more in TC, see how he progressed if at all.
Apparently the team is not going to wait to see if he develops or taking any chances, since they are still talking WR. Trying to make the trade for Parker, bringing in Olave to have a look for a possible draft pick.

They did keep him on the 53 roster all last year though. I think Feheko as well, Vasher will compete for that last spot again If they keep 6. The other will be on the PS, if not both.

Anyone else hopeful about this guy?

With all the WR talk and everyone being down about the departure of Cooper, what about Fehoko?

I think he needed to bulk up, from what I saw of his training camp video. He's a little lean for the NFL. But I can see this guy coming on in a year or so with his level of natural ability.

Plus, he's a good character kind of guy. And I sense that Dallas is on the hunt for a certain type of player. And that's why they were willing to let go of the likes of Gregory, and Cooper.

That's my theory. And I'm going to trust the front office on it. Maybe they're onto something with a specific prototype of player, and general philosophy when it comes to personality and attitude.

I know some of you will bash me for this. But these elements matter more than physical ability, etcetera. So I'm personally choosing to take this possibility into account, because I've learned over the years that the best things happen on the team when everyone on here is whining the loudest.
The Cowboys have had a full year to watch this guy every day. They just brought in a bunch of first round WRs for visits. That’s all you need to know what they think of Fehoko.

No one is gonna post it? Fine lol

https://cowboyswire.usatoday.com/2022/02/25/simi-fehoko-bigger-role-cowboys-offense-2022/

“I’ll have a bigger role, I’d say, in the offense and in special teams. Talking with head coach McCarthy, he was saying, ‘Potentially, this year, you gain a little bit more weight and we can use you as more like a hybrid tight end-receiver-type body,’ which I have no problem doing. I played at a lot heavier weight in college. They made me lose weight here, so obviously gaining weight and playing at a higher weight isn’t a problem.”

Noah Brown 2.0?
That wouldn’t be all bad considering where we got him
Making an nfl team is not the easiest thing
Brown is a really good ST player and a solid guy to have at the bottom of a depth chart
If he can be that it’s a win
It’s not like he was a top pick

Be neat if he pans out.

Hard to be hopeful about a guy who even when multiple receivers were dealing with physical issues he couldn't even dress for game day. I hope he shows something but I'm not counting on it.
