That’s cute. If only we had the guy who went 0-3 in the playoffs in 12 years as a Detroit Lion, right?

How many QBs overcome 14 penalties and 0 run game in the playoffs, against a great defense like SF? Get a clue. Dak’s the main reason we had a shot that day.

Top 10 QB, like it or not.
top5? Top8? 9?10?

Why cant you just accept the FACT that Dak played like an MVP candidate the first 6 or 7 games. He played like a bottom 1/3 QB after that. Look at the numbers. That isnt my opinion, those are facts.

And that means he has to give that answer? That is a poor excuse for people saying the wrong things.

I can assure you there are people at ESPN that did not like that answer. They didn't agree to get him for him to openly interview for a front office job in the NFL. They are betting a lot on this to fix MNF.

Would you rather work for ESPN for a truckload of cash or resurrect the now fallen franchise you already led to 3 rings? Money vs. legacy. Troy has both already, so I guess he really has the freedom to choose whatever he wants if it's offered to him.

Keep his job at ESPN? Are you high? He cannot be affiliated with any team in any capacity.

I do not know what point I am missing. He makes no difference in this team as long as the set up is the same and he has insinuated the blame lies with management, he will not be asked to join the Cowboys,
Whether he makes any difference or not isn’t the point here. It’s the gesture.

I haven’t studied the splits, but bottom 1/3 sounds a tad harsh.

He wasn’t the same after the calf injury for whatever reason, but the run game went into the toilet as well.

He’s still a top 10 QB overall. If we ever put a great team around him, we can win big.

I'm going to out on a limb and say you have no idea what team he played on to make it to the HOF. Hint...It's the teams board you are currently trolling.
What about the Jones family gives you any confidence in our future?

and if history is an indicator, Troy sucks as a GM.
When was Troy a GM to have such history? I do know about his knowledge of the game (whether good or bad) and how it's played. But I don't recall him ever making personel decisions for a professional team to have such GM history that you proclaim... Enlighten us...

The only reason for my comment about him not being a Jones is there is no way Jerry will allow anyone outside of the Jones family to make decisions. Even Will McClay doesn't make decisions however he does have Jerry and son's ear more and more.

My intent in presenting this article and interview of Troy was not to discuss him possibly being a GM or the impacts he could make but simply to applaud Troy for making himself available despite his open criticism of our ownership over the years .

The fact he’d be willing to offer his services to our dysfunctional ownership in any capacity is a noble gesture IMO. That was my take after reading entire article and then listening to interview.

I do applaud him for making himself available as well. I think the jones' need some serious help and I honestly think if they would open their ears and shut their mouths, maybe just maybe they can learn something...

he wanted David LaFleur and a few more when he was a player. Do u REALLY think his eye for talent has improved?

He worked out with him. Wasn’t like he was scouting TEs. And his “eye” for talent can’t be any worse than what we’ve been seeing for 3 decades.

He worked him out but not in game situations. A lot of analysts missed on LaFleur.

Who were the others ?
Kavika Pittman(defense) and he asked for Joey Galloway. He also went to Jerry and signed off on drafting Clay Shiver at Center. Dude sucked and was out of the NFL in 2 years basically. Aikman can be the GM as long as he has a guy Like Will McClay assisting him along the way. That would work. We don't need Troy Aikman being the sole decision maker with players.

Money doesn’t appear to be a priority for him. He knows it would be a pay cut. And only working one night a week who says he’d have to give that up pending the role had.
Troy can say whatever he wants but he just CHOSE to take this broadcasting deal paying 18M a year.
Money very much mattered in that decision to move.

And no front office role that is anything but figurehead would be so lax with scheduling.
The average GM role pays ~3M a year.
This is all non-starter stuff at this point.
When Troy wants a front office role he can get one but it likely won't be in Dallas where McClay is the same age with proven results.

Honestly Troy's best bet may be to get into ownership and take on a front office role as part of that deal or he could spend another 10+ years making 18m a year and retire happy with his HOF career in both field and booth.

Troy said he felt a GM role had probably passed him by at his age. This tells me some fans didn’t read the entire article.

And that’s not what Troy was suggesting as it appears you didn’t read the entire article like many others .

nah we agree there, but Im just sayin, its usually not a great thing 2 hand all the power 2 one guy. Denver took away Elways GM title and he no longer has say in the final decisions 'officially". They did this 2 years back I think. He just cant get it done. But now they have a consensus set ^. I like that idea...as long as its not a JONES FAMILY MEMBER.
