Was the number one problem on the D addressed?

Nope. If they wanted to fix the defense they could have drafted Loyd to pair with Parsons and let our best rusher do just that. Or they could have taken a higher rated DT. Or both. But as of now we're back to LVE who was playing better at years end but I'm not sold he can do it for 17 games. If Bohanna takes a step up then maybe he and ridgeway can make a difference but don't hold your breath.

In general your 3 tech gets better numbers just due to the nature of the two positions. On this team right now, between the two, 1 tech is a bigger hole. Being able to not give ground changes the angles your LBs take, so they can play more downhill.

I can't believe all these years you've followed @kskboys and you're just now finding out this difference. One of the issues why they can't stop the run is Jerry keeps putting 3 tech types at that 1 tech position.
I’ve never claimed to be an X and O type of fan. Which Ksk knows . And why I asked about particular players. Once it was established like what Lilly was I knew. I just never described them as such.

But it makes sense we have Tech 3 guys but no Tech 1 guys. I’d only add that it doesn’t appear we’ve invested high enough picks in the Tech 3 which has at least in our history been the greater talent which probably carried the load. If we had this era perhaps we could have gotten by with lesser Tech 1.

I guess the bigger point is we need both but in Cap era have to choose where to invest and we’ve chose to invest on the edge or DE where it looks like most teams are investing high draft capital. Or there just aren’t many Tech 1 guys coming out. Regardless we haven’t invested in 1st round on either this era.

Imma let you finish, but we’ve been the best drafting team this past decade & it’s not even really close.

More pro bowlers and all pros than any other team. So maybe the facts you have to support your narrative against the GM aren’t that strong.

I almost forgot that all the good draft picks are because of Will McClay and the bad ones are because of Jerry Jones

I will say it for you so you don’t waste your time responding. Even though your post was about drafting, you’re going to respond with what have we won the last 10 years, bring up not having won a Super Bowl since the 90s blah blah blah….

We’re used to this song & dance
We’ve been better at drafting for sure since Will McClay became the primary scouting and draft advisor. But shouldn’t we base “great drafts” on how that translates to playoff wins? Who cares about how many pro bowlers we have if we don’t win playoff games?

No,we love our ownership and front office for drafting players we love to watch and buy merchandise for . Winning isn’t necessary :)

My least favorite day of the year, day after draft. Mouth breathing, knuckle dragging, chest thumping fan boys feeling emboldened, running off at the mouth. Over rating talent, telling us the front office deserves benefit of the doubt, and acting like the last 26 years never happened. Only to vanish around Thanksgiving tail between their legs not to be heard from again til now. To answer the question, we dont know if the run defense improved or not. I really dont think it matters because the season will be determined other side of ball. Right now the offense looks worse to me. Worse on the O Line, the same at RB, worse at WR, and the same at QB which isnt good enough. Right now this has the look of a 500 team, 8 to 9 wins and maybe playoffs and an early exit. It is what it is.

I agree, but that should be on the coaching which is a whole different topic than drafting. We’ve had the talent, that’s no question.

We’ve had talent ( when they’re healthy) in some key positions on offense. But not overall defensively .

What other division would we have won in NFC if not in East last year?

Possibly the South, West is stacked and Green Bay is in the North.

You draft to win your division first! The rest of the NFC East is loading up on offense because we blew their ***** out last year and they know they have to put up points to compete.

As far as your question, we could’ve won every division!

We outplayed Tampa, they won in the end because we choked with the game on the line.

In order to win other divisions you’d have to beat them.

I’m not here to bust your bubble. If you want to believe it, that’s fine. Buy into the hype. But there’s nothing to support it. Not yet.

Moral victories don’t count.

But I have yet to hear a fan argue we were a better team than Tampa, Green Bay or LA who won their divisions.

It’s on the whole organization. Who hires the coaches? Our organization thought Garrett was worth keeping around a decade.

But it is. We haven't been able to stop the run which keeps us losing in the playoffs. We keep drafting projects and injured players instead of shoring up weaknesses.

And using two 3 tech types at DT doesn't work. Several teams have tried. It was noted how much better Donald was last season after they put two hosses around him in AShawn and Gaines.

i think dt john ridgeway will help in our run defense.
I think the run defence will improve because we have several DT’s that are relatively young and will improve as they grow together. I’m hoping De Sam Williams comes in willing to learn from Coach Quinn. They will be great!
