My grandpa. Every Sunday we would go visit my grandparents and eat lunch with them. During NFL season I would sit next to my grandpa in my little plastic chair and drink my juice box while he drank his Budweiser and cursed at the refs. He taught me the rules of the game and the name of Cowboy legends as I got older.

My mom. She moved around a lot as a kid, but they lived in Dallas for awhile and became attached to the Cowboys. So, for me growing up, I was introduced to football and it was either be a Cowboys fan or live on the streets (I'm kidding.......well, kind of haha).

On one hand, I get why she raised me as a Cowboys fan, as they were a respectable club in her day (and parts of my youth). On the other hand, I almost curse her for making me love this dang franchise. lol

I lost her a few years ago, so I keep hoping the Cowboys will do anything of value so I can feel like the season was in honor of her.

My step brother who was much older than I played high school football and then college ball for Southern State (AR) Muleriders in the early 70's. Well he took out the time to play catch and not just play but teach me about the game. I got to see him play live a bunch of times. I got my love of the game in itself from him.

With the hatred some fans have for Dak and Jerry it’s a wonder they haven’t fallen out of love for football.

Jerry played a large part in helping ruin the game for me. Just saying.

You’re still here posting so he hasn’t completely ruined it for you. He still has fans packing the stadium for home games every Sunday. The team is raking in more money than any other team. Not trying to defend Jerry. Just saying.
