I'm hoping he's ready and capable. True number ones take over games, they open things up for the other receivers. They become the focal point for defensive coordinators as a guy they scheme to stop. I can tell you one thing, he's not alone, Cowboys Nation is hoping he's also ready.

He better be ready
I just hope we use him more in crossing routes
Back in Dez days I never understood why we don’t use more crossing routes
Get the ball in the hands of playmakers on the run and let them do their thing

He was already the #1 here. Now he doesnt have to worry about the whiney Cooper having to get half his balls.

Maybe should have been the focus as our WR1 but he certainly wasn't treated as one, nor when he got the ball did he play like a WR1. Was this his fault, yup? Was it his fault Dak can't hit a second/third/fourth look target? Yup. Next year will be huge for this team, if he doesn't step up we will be looking at another draft where we have to take a WR in Rd 1.

I have the fullest of confidence in this player.

Don't worry about what he hasn't shown as of yet. Cooper being here was a big factor.

Lamb needs to work on the dropsy thing but that's correctable, and he is a guy that wants to be great.

We are lucky to have him.

It's a difference between a team's lead No.1 WR ... and a top elite WR.

- The same perimeter and burden that was on Amari Cooper, the same will hold for Lamb.
He's flat gotta prove he can line up and beat the better coverage CBs in the NFL.

- i don't expect him to be Julio, Megatron or Randy Moss flat overwhelming, but
could he be an Issac Bruce, Reggie Wayne or even an AJ Brown ?

- Imo, i think the Cowboys overrate his play speed and run skills on certain things, he's not a jet sweep guy, and speed doesn't show up on
punt returns (a role we need to replace him as he's too invaluable)
and he's not a top end fast, over the top guy, such as Vikes Justin Jefferson.
But the body control and smoothness is there.

- Scheme, QB and supporting receiver cast is gonna have to help him all the more as well.

- i'm not as concerned with drops at this point, as those like Holt, Bruce and even Owens even had bouts with drops.

CD has dropsies and has shown numerous lack of focus moments. Coop is gone, so no help to take pressure off of him. Small catch radius and Daks ball placement isn't the best. Above AVG YAC guy without top end speed. Cooper was the top dog in the WR room. CD hasn't faced top DB from every team or been bracketed each week. CD hasn't shown great or elite skills. I think he's a good player who could get better. I think he is like a top 15-20 guy.

He wasn’t the 1 but I think cooper created his own problems in several ways. Whining was a part, attitude, effort
There is a reason someone with his talent is on his 3rd team

Lots of truth here. Good post.

I don't expect him to ever be one of the first names that come to mind when you think of the leagues top WR, but I expect him to be a notch below that.

He has all the talent one needs and it's not like he doesn't want to be as good as he can be. The brand thing hasn't seemed to have gotten to him just yet, but hangin w Deebo? Shouldn't take long lol.

At any rate he is ready for the role of #1 WR, and I dont get the idea it's too big for him.

I have a gut feeling he'll STILL be dropping passes. He needs to stop taking his eyes off the ball.

Given his draft status and reputation coming in his overall play has been underwhelming. He has shown flashes. He has all the ability needed to be a top flight receiver. I expect him to up his game this year.

He says he will. But talk does not impress me. Action does. We will see if he can reach that higher level.

you must be watching another team. Lamb was the #1 target, caught the most balls and for the most yards. He also led the team in yac.

lamb has already stepped up and will continue to do so. Clearly you lack the ability to see great talent or understand what you see with your eyes. Enjoy!!!
