Harvey Martin was NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1977 ... and still nowhere close to a mention in either NFL Hall of Fame ... much less Cowboys Ring of Honor .

So sad ...... .

I think there are quite a few sack artists from the 60s-70s that would be in already if the NFL would acknowledge that sacks existed before 1982.

Or Drew Pearson ! The guy is on the 70's all-decade team next to Lynn Swan but can't get in for 37 years?

There is an anti-Dallas bias in the national sports media which is composed mostly of guys from the East coast who grew up hating Dallas.

At one point the only two first team players on the 1970s all decade team not in the hall of fame were Drew Pearson and Cliff Harris. I mean could they be anymore obvious?

I see the OP is still disrespecting Chuck Howley with his silence on the matter. LOL, go figure! He likes to pretend he represents the old guys by claiming one for his moniker but really he just hides behind the legend Bob Hayes so he can dodge the fact he disrespects oldtimers like Chuck Howley.

Erik Williams making Reggie White cry for 3 straight seasons and on 2 different teams should qualify him for HOF.

Erik Williams didn't just dominate, he intimidated, like no other. Players just feared and hated him.

More than they even feared LA methinks.

Like Gale Sayers, his prime was short. But wow, what a prime it was.
