Tony averaged 8.6 yards per catch while Elliott averaged 6.1 in 2021. Tony also outpaced Elliott in reception percentage by almost 14%. This shows not just the ability to gain a first down almost every play, but also reliability as Tony is one of the most sure handed & fastest running backs in the league.

To think he's making just under a million $796 per season verses Elliott's $12.4 million per season. Tony's better & cheaper! Numbers don't lie.

If both were playing at the peak that we have ever seen them play, then Zeke is undeniably the better AND more complete back.

However, having said that; Tony is currently playing at/near that peak level and Zeke is not.

Zeke went all in on increasing his strength several years ago. It cost him speed, flexibility, and agility. Last year, he looked like he had finally got some of that back, and then he got hurt.

As down as I am on Zeke he’s still the better overall back. Dak would eventually get killed with Pollard in there most of the time having to block. He’s not consistent picking up the tough yards between the tackles. There’s going to be games where you have to be able to push the pile to move the chains and Pollard isn’t that type of back. He’s very good in the role he has.

Me thinks this thread will ruffle feathers :muttley: I also don’t think it’s as simple as who is bettter as they both provide value in different ways
I’ll vote zeke just because if I know I need 2 yards I got more faith he’ll get it but they both are good I just happen to like pollard more because of his home run ability

Please watch their 2021 highlight reels before voting. Thank you.

Ezekiel Elliott 2021 highlights

Tony Pollard 2021 highlights

Zeke looked good the first half of the year. Looked quick.

But Pollard is the more dynamic back. Does more with what he is given. Both the run and the pass. And then returning kicks.

Pollard had more highlight runs with 100 less touches. Amazing how many of Zeke's TD's were inside the 5 yard line or even from 2 yards out.

They are a great one two punch if Zeke is completely healthy and the touches are split.

But its sad that will never be like that here.

And then of course the Zeke salary is too much to overcome.

Pollards success is due in a large part to zeke softening them up....let Pollard take on fresh dlines week after week and let's see if he is still perceived the same way.

This is one of the worst misconceptions out there. Zeke doesnt soften up anyone anymore.

Yeah those 2 yard runs up the middle surely softened the defense!

Zeke has a 4.5 CAREER average.

How many yards does Tony average up the middle? You probably don't even know. Just thought ya'd get cute with the zeke hate.

Maybe if Dak could get the hike without being trampled by the defensive line he could hand off to an open Running Back.
