I think he would have been the Cowboys 7th round pick if they had one.

He's got a shot to be a real player. Unlike the usual riff-raff that gets hyped this time of year.
He is probably a version of Kavon Frazier that might be marginally playable on defense

I'm not sold on Mukuamu or Coyle, so I'm not sure how deep the position is. Kearse, Hooker and Wilson are the only guarantees.
MUKUAMU is a guy with physical traits but undeveloped
With 3 solid vets plus Goodwin there’s not room for more than one, maybe two of the young guys but we are better at safety than we’ve been in years
And hopefully one of the young guys turns out to be really goid

While I like Mr Wilson's game...when he is playing. Seems like last two years he was always banged up n missing games. He may not be a lock if he keeps up the streak of getting "nicked up".

Time will tell

Go Cowboys!

Izzy should be a lock. Plays safety, plays corner and plays special teams. Wilson should be gone next season and that would mean next year is Kearse and Hooker start and Izzy and Bell remain depth. Coyle complicates the situation! It’s a good problem to have as we’ve been so thin at safety for so many years

I can't argue against that. He may get surpassed for the third safety job by Bell. If that happens, we might be more likely to keep potential with Mukuamu or Coyle over a vet on the last year of his deal.

Bell was the Cowboys priority UDFA signing, first on the list.

Yes, he's the golden boy, but praise is praise. If Houston is drawing praise from various Cowboys and Bell is drawing praise from various Cowboys, then we should feel good about both of them. Not like both are locks to make the team, just that right now, they look like possible contributors.

Mukuamu is making the team. They better put Bell on ir or something.

Not sure why you feel that strongly about Mukuamu. Have you heard good things about his play in camp that I have not heard?

I haven't heard anything about those physical traits being developed, though. While good things are being said about Bell, it's been crickets with Mukuamu, unless you know something I don't know. That doesn't necessarily mean anything bad. He may just be going unnoticed by the media.

He balled out last camp and preseason and when actual preseason games start I believe he'll do it again. Bell hasn't proven anything. He has to make plays in preseason. He isn't making the team based on practices

I'm just sayin. And that was without all the hype of bell

Maybe. I hope so. Be nice if he could be the future at free safety and Bell the future at strong safety. However, I didn't really see reason to keep him on the 53 last camp, and felt he was deserving of the practice squad at best.

What has bell done to deserve his hype and this 53 roster projection? Serious question.

Nothing more than be singled out for his play and effort so far in camp. That's all we've really got to go on. I don't think anyone's anointing him.

Wouldn't you be happier concerning Mukuamu if we were reading that coaches and players were raving about him? He'd still have to show it, but at least we'd be hearing that the team thinks he can be something special.

I think Bell has a real good shot at making the roster. My comment was more about similar positive comments being made about other players. Most of us are not at camp, so I don't think we can pick and choose what praise is just hyped-up riffraff.

I'm not saying who will make the team because we have a long way to go and a lot to see before then, but I don't think we can just dismiss the praise for a player like Houston while saying that Bell has a shot. That's talking out of both sides of your mouth IMO due to how little we know and both players drawing praise.
Does Houston play special teams? That’s a huge part of filling out the bottom of the roster

I don't care about all that I care about games. For bell and izzy practice is ok but preseason games will make or break them. Especially since neither have made any significant plays this camp.

I have no clue
Changing positions doesn’t always workout
The safety position is gonna be interesting
We will probably go long at WR with two guys out so it may require going short somewhere else
Once the season starts Gallup is either active if he’s real close or on pup which requires missing 4 games
Washington too
Hopefully one of those guys is close enough to avoid that
