That was actually a nice pass. The QB has to throw the ball before he cuts. I don't know what the WR was doing there.

Yeah that was either a spectacular 4 yard pass or he was practicing how to throw the ball away.

This is going to be Daniel Jones' year.

Tyrod Taylor who can actually play NFL Qb is waiting to drive the big blue bus . And Taylor DaBoll and the new GM go back to Buffalo Bills days together. Jones will be seeing bench by week 3.
Daboll didnt coach Tyrod. Also Tyrod is awful

I’m not sure Tyrod Taylor isn’t worse than Daniel Jones. He’s played for five different teams and has never been able to hold down a starting job. It’s beyond me why his name keeps coming up on this board as a viable QB.
Tyrod is awful. He had a couple presentable seasons in Buffalo where all he was asked to do was check down and protect the ball. At that time, Bills fans expectations for QB's were so low that they propped him up

Enjoy the crap Giants while it lasts. They're an organization that puts in the effort. They'll be back to being a pain in the *** at some point.

I don’t foresee Daniel Jones lasting two more seasons as a starter there…

I like Tyrod Taylor. He's not great but not bad. I've seen enough from him to know he's better than Daniel Jones but he's in that Teddy Bridgewater, Nick Foles, Case Keenum, Flacco, etc.

Taylor is a very average QB which is why he bounces around the league. Go look at his career numbers they scream AVERAGE. He was given every chance in Buffalo to be their QB and he couldn’t get it done. Joe Flacco was much better than Tyrod Taylor during his prime years. I would take Bridgewater over Taylor.

I agree he’s pretty awful which is why it amazes me why so many fans on this board talk him up as something viable at QB. There’s some on this forum that would rather have Taylor than Dak. Lol

I live in WNY, so ive seen most of his games. He was adequate when no one knew who he was. When teams figured he could drive the ball more 15 yards down field, his effectiveness went south fast. At this point, I would say he is in the lower teir of NFL back ups. Jones probably isnt a legitimate starter, but he is definitely better than Taylor

Correction: Giants WR runs an absolutely terrible route and gets his QB in trouble

Pretty sure some ex-giants players have pretty much come out saying how bad they feel for Daniel Jones because New York is as circus right now. But Giants being the Giants, they'll probably find a way to get back to the Super Bowl this decade while we struggle in the divisional round.

An "accurate" pass on that play would have been an INT.
- That route is dependent on how the DB plays it.
- A O-Coordinator and QB know that route is only going to work a fraction of the time.
- It would help to run that route with a WR that can stop and come back with less steps.

It's one bad pass in practice .

Actually, there's an article (I believe it was on page six) that said this has been a routine event and there is speculation that they will either trade for Garappolo or role with Taylor.

Apparently Jones has looked bad for the past two weeks.

I also read that Wentz has been very off and on for his training camp as well. Of course training camp is for working out the kinks so take it for what it's worth.

Slap a "4" on the back of that jersey and you'd swear you were watching Dakota "Toad Hunter" Prescot winging it to another mystery receiver or TE! Dang, Jones and Prescot could be twin brothers from different mothers!

I have a hard time knocking Daniel Jones. He's been pretty tough through a terrible period for that team. The coaching has been horrible, Oline even worse, RB can't stay on the field, and a suspect group of WRs. Giants might be on a better path with the new regime, we'll see? but they've been an absolute disaster. Poorly run and poorly coached. If any player ever needed a change of scenery it would probably do wonders for Jones.

As for the video, What the hell is with that route? Hard to blame the QB.

That just looked like a throwaway on an early down 8n stead of risking an INT on a well-covered receiver.

That was what I saw. The defender sat on the route and broke well on the pass. Possibly when Jones saw that the defender didn't bite on the deeper route, he adjusted the throw. The bigger issue is probably him deciding to make that throw. He should have come off that route and at least checked down instead of essentially throwing it away. However, if he was committed to throwing there, it's probably for the best that he threw it where he did.

Yeah I hate to defend him....but due to that route the receiver ran Daniel threw it to the spot to where he should've been.

Well, it looks like the receiver was expecting the ball to be at that spot as soon as he turned. However, he had created no separation with the DB, so that would have been a dangerous throw, so he does need to understand that he needs to come back to the ball. The question would be, though, where was he expected to be because if he comes back and Jones is throwing to the spot where he turned, then that would for sure cause an interception.

We tend to put blame on either the quarterback or receiver without knowing what the specifics of the route are. Whatever the route was supposed to be, I agree with Jones for throwing it where he did. If he'd tried to squeeze it in, it might have been a pick.
