Did you read the article and included Twitter videos? Sam Williams has come very close many times to sacking the QB all while creating lots of QB pressures and assisting the Defense. He's getting better as he hones his pass rushing skills.
Yah, sorry I haven’t been as impressed as this article. I’ve seen him play. Coming close just doesn’t do it for me.

Williams will be everything Randy Gregory was supposed to be

Hopefully ....and Eventually .....

- Williams doesn't have the natural bend and wiry agility that Gregory had.
He may not be quite as top, elite first step quick off the ball snap as Randy was.

- But Sam I am has a lot more vast combination of size and power to offer than Gregory did.
Williams may have more top end long term potential than Gregory.
He was very productive as a sack master in college, and he has astoundingly impressive size-speed ratio (4.4 speed at 260 lbs) and athleticism.

- i think he is in coaching good hands, under Quinn & Co., i think he'll be schemed and rotated well.
Hopefully he gains discipline (vs run, vs misdirection plays, cutting down on flags) .
With the likes of Parsons, Dlaw, and Fowler, etc. he will not be in a position to be a savior.
He can grow and develop with gradual playing time.

I will say this...Ball has looked terrible. Plays too high. Does a terrible job with his hands. A real leaner. Just awful.

Beating Josh ball in practice isn’t impressive.
I like the kid but I think this piece is over blown.

getting lots of snaps in a preseason game isn’t some great stat.
I haven't been impressed....thought you would see a better get off...and he occasionally loses containment. Had to laugh @ Baldinger...over hyping him...

I don't think it was Williams who was in on the Makwamamamamamu INT. Think that was Fowler. So that article is just another lazy writer who makes more money than me, null and void.

You're right that was Fowler.. but if it gives you any comfort most sportswriters don't make a lot of money.. That's why they do a thousand radio interviews and TV spots when they are invited to augment their salaries.. Cause they are being paid peanuts these days..

The man has played 2 exhibition games and one play I saw he bull rushed the tackle straight back into the QB’s face . Sometimes you have to look beyond the sacks and see this guy is going to be constant pressure . Give the guy a half season before you get a real take . Fowler and Williams are going to be excellent cavalry .

This defense is shaping up nice, again if we can stop the run and force teams to deal with this pass rush....I like our chances...

I think he has shown some talent, but he has also shown he needs more time to develop. He is facing backups in preseason. It is a good sign, but not necessarily that he will be the next Micah Parsons when the regular season begins.

As I’ve stated...I’m really excited about this defense as a whole...SW looks like an exciting new piece. We shall see when things start for the real but we finally have some real ballers n brawlers on D and helluva coach in DQ in second year. The sky’s the limit for D this season...jmo

This defense has league leading potential if things go their way. I think the only thing that would prevent a top-5 finish would be the offense being absolutely horrid (which is looking like more of a possibility after the Tyron injury).

I've stated this too. THe thing is Gregory was excellent at creating pass rush however so will Sam Williams the difference
Sam is more packed in weight and stronger better against the run and will give you almost as good a pass rush

Well...tell that to Khalil Mack who didn't beat ball once in two days of practice.
