Let’s be honest about the defense

They did pretty well until they got tired.

They had 16 carries for 76 yards in the first half. Dallas made a few stops for -1 and 3 yards, but they gave up some big runs, too. TB finished with 33 for 152 so they (TB) were actually less effective in the 2nd half, even if just a little.

At this point, only 7 teams have given up more rushing yards than Dallas. So they're bottom third even if both teams do worse on Monday.

I guess they got tired sooner than I thought! lol I really thought they did better early on, I don't know why.

As the Ticket pointed out today, TB did that with a terrible OL. It’s not like it was the Ravens doing that. The D is all boom or bust which is great when your offense can keep pace.

Fournette averaging 6.0 YPC is inexcusable

Defense played well enough to win it. They gave it up in the run game but stiffened in the red zone you can't ask for much more than that. Moving forward teams will continue to exploit the weakness so kellen needs to figure out what time of possession and field position can do. Everyone thinks Joe burrow is a threat but I'm more worried about Joe Mixon.

Tampa's oline issue is ignored around here. These people need an excuse and losing Tyron was what the doctor ordered. Nevermind that they're essentially saying we need pro-bowlers across the line just to be good enough to lose in the playoffs.

Defense needs a quality rotation of DTs. I like Osa, but that's it. Other DTs constantly get moved. This has been an issue since Jimmy left.

The problem stopping the run Sunday night was not the DTs alone, although that was part of it. What worries me is the Bucs OL is beat up too and they lost a starting LT during the game. You wouldn't know it the way they pushed the Cowboys around. Those runs to the outside where Fornette would find a gap and run for 10 or 15 yards were frustrating.

Without Parsons 2 red zone sacks this team would have given up 31 points. When you don’t get 2-3 turnovers a game, the shine starts to come off.

Admittedly part was because the offense kept putting them back on the field, but it wasn’t a phenomenal performance for the D either outside of Micah.

Fournette gashing in the run game and way to many easy 20-yard completions in the first half with defenders playing behind the receivers just hoping to tackle them

So basically, if they didn't make the plays they did, they would have given up more points? Makes plenty of sense to me.

I actually like the defense. Tom Brady is so good at getting the ball out. When they play someone who holds it for .5 seconds longer it's gonna be even better.
Brady got rid of it quickly and guys were still wide open. If a QB gets rid of it quickly your guys don’t need to cover as long. I heard the talk of Brown having such a great camp. I didn’t see it at all vs Tampa Bay!

You're just goofy. I have nothing to prove to you.

The fact that you can watch that game objectively and come after the defense, then I can't help you.

I'm sorry.
The offense was putrid, and the defense was mediocre vs a team with 3 new starters on the O line. Don’t brag to hard on the D.

Pretty good in the redzone, but it wasn't pretty watching them get ran over getting there.

I partially agree with what you wrote, but the part in bold letters is very important. The Offense put them in that decision. And when you're on the field way longer as you should be, more points will be scored against you.

Dak sucked. Yes a couple of other guys on the O too, but his play was just atrocious. I mean people here say he is elite. Would an elite QB been sent off so quickly all the time? Bad o line or not. Losing is one thing, but losing like this... Brady could have stayed home tendering his angry wife and they would have still won 6-3 or something.
