I guess because I’m not that surprised he has played so well. He played really well against Minnesota last year. That was a big surprise for me. But this year, he hasn’t really shocked me. Maybe if he leads us to a win against the rams I will be more surprised.

He’s been excellent for sure. But other than Cincy, he hasn’t exactly faced murderer’s row of tough teams. Without our defense, we’re probably 1-3 because we are still only averaging about 23 points a game which isn’t terrible, but without a good D, that’s not that potent.

I like Cooper Rush a lot but I’m just not as impressed as many here.
Anybody who saw 3-0 coming I want their insight on investments. Most of us had the season over after Daks injury.

For me, Noah Brown has been a big surprise. I expected Tolbert to slide into the role of temporary starter until Gallup returned, and be the 3rd receiver going forward. But Noah Brown has definitely earned time on the field for more than just special teams and blocking.

Cooper Rush

Noah Brown

Donovan Wilson

Terrence Steele

Tyler Smith

Brett Maurer

Dorace Armstrong

Dante Fowler

Kevante Turpin

- Rush: whenever you have your backup step in and hand you wins, that a monster plus help.
- i admit i had Noah cut so many times, and disregarded camp notes, but he's making plays
- Wilson is playing at a Pro Bowl level, i'm questioning if it is Kearse that should be 3rd
safety now instead of Wilson.
- Steele has been solid, he's not getting beat like a drum and we're a better run team ..vs Lael Collins

- Smith had no preseason/T-camp at LT, but yet the rookie has step in day one
and has impressed since
- Maurer has been reliably solid. Booming, accurate leg and not shanking X-tra pts.
- Armstrong has shown up in the pass rush, vs run it's been mixed views.
- Fowler is another that is showing up as a rush sub, vs run, also has been mixed views
- Turpin is gonna be a difference maker in return game ..leads NFL in punt ret yds last count; will break it for TDs

This is a very good list and kinda mirrors what I was going to post. No need to post it now as you pretty well covered it (except Maher's spelling :D).

I have to give the FO credit for assembling this talent pretty much out of nowhere. I will slam Booger Jerrah sometimes on these pages and now he and the front office team deserve kudos. Also the coaching staff for the way they have meshed and coached the team ! We can win with a team. Talent has to mesch and I / we all have been surprised be what the organization has been able to assemble.

Good job COWBOYS !

I'm going to go against the grain and say Diggs. If you had told me that Diggs wouldn't be getting the INTs at the same rate as last year, I would have thought that he'd be getting burnt from gambling. I LOVED what he was able to do last year, but I thought it was more about fortunate timing and a bit of luck.

But Diggs has surprised me by looking more like a complete CB this year. Maybe I was expecting a fall-off simply because we haven't had a CB of his caliber in a long, long time.

i feel like the interceptions actually worked in the opposite way as far as perception. had they just been pbu's don't think anyone's calling them lucky or covering up for bad coverage. definitely happy with his play though.

and man, how fortunate to have so many surprise players this year.

what i want to see with this coaching staff, is how they will react and lead... once Dak has returned... .

Meaning will we still be committed to running the ball.. or will we revert back to pass-frenzy because Kellen has Dak back ?

Has to be Tyler Smith although not to me. Most of the board was in meltdown mode, Jerry didn’t plan yada yada yada.
Honestly I wanted Jermaine Johnson with the pick.

Tyler Smith has been great.
Cooper Rush has shown capable of being a bus driver and making a few plays when needed.

Browns production has probably been the biggest surprise, his stats could have been even more vs the giants.

Wilson I think most forgot he showed he was an upcoming playmaker in 2020 because of injuries on 2021. Guy just makes a lot of plays.

Steele hasn't been too surprising to me because he played well enough last year to be a starter this year.

Money Maher has been more steady than I think most expected.

It's going to be interesting.

If Cooper starts against the Rams and wins and Dak comes back flat against the eagles and loses its going to have fans divided. Maybe even players.

Dak is the more talented qb but Cooper reads a defense better and gets the ball out quicker.

I think many players have been covered, and can't go wrong with any of them.

so...

Rowdy....he has not been seen as much...hence .. 3-1.

The offense looked so terrible after game 1. I knew Rush had it in him but the entire offense looked so band without Amari I did not think they would get it done. Cleaned up the penalties and ran the ball well and the Defense took over the team. Cooper did what he did in Minnesota last year and has done it for 3 games now.

I still really don't know what to think or expect from the offense!

They call him Donooooo. Wilson has been a pleasant surprise, but so many players have emerged. Noah, Tyler, Dorance, DaRon. Even veterans like D-Law, Fowler and, yes, Cooper Rush, have upped their game. All of this and we have a guy named Micah. This is fun. Hope it continues.
