If they don't they are stupid. Pay Pollard and let Zeke go. They should have never signed that contract with Zeke in the first place.

I just looked and his contract is basically identical to the cap hit next season. So there's nothing to gain by cutting him until the following season. But hopefully he'll agree to a reworked contract.

Yes he will cost 11 million. I would try to trade him. Even for a 7th rounder. If no takers, I'd still cut him. But that is just me. We need to do what the Rams did with Gurley. We need to keep Pollard at all cost.

The contract on Zeke says cap hit 11.8 million for next season. Would we have to eat that? It's 11.8, then 6 mil then 1. I don't see the Jones' eating 11.8 million dollars in cap room.
We gain 11 mill by releasing him. If we don’t, another 4 years kicks in. Zeke is 100% gone.

Damn you become a cap expert in 15 minutes? lol-jk

If they designate Zeke as a June 1st cut his cap hit will be split in half. So it goes from 11 million to about 6 million. Giving us right at 10 million in cap relief.

You want him to walk? He's looking like one of the best weapons in the entire NFL.

I'd cut Zeke and pay him if that's possible, but I'm no cap expert.
I want to keep both they are a good 1 2 punch no matter which one starts

Zeke will rework his contract he will not be going anywhere. As someone said in an earlier post Pollard can and will be replaced with a better guy Bijan Robinson.
If not there are too many guys out there just like Pollard may be better, but we may tag him and then pay him with some of the money from the restructure of Zeke's Contract.

No more paying running backs big money. I hope they learned from Zeke, use Pollard as much as you can the rest of the season

"Big" is relative these days. Makes much *more* sense to franchise Pollard next year than to franchise Schulz this year.

Franchise Pollard then let him go. Draft a couple of mid round RBs next year to split time with him and audition for the following year.

Let Schulz and Zeke go in 2023, Gallup and Pollard in 2024.

Exactly, they can franchise tag him for next year, don't have to go in to another long term contract with a RB right away. Still not sure if they will cut Zeke, if that even makes sense, or if they can do something to lower his cap hit next year.
They can walk away from Zeke's contract at the end of the season with a nuetral cap hit.
They will redo his deal or cut him.
At least thats what should be done.

Ok, thanks. Yes, agree - its really up to Zeke, he knows he's not worth that kind of money and should be open to re-negotiate his deal.
