The competition level is different from college to the pros.

In 2016 Dak played under center a lot. But as they begin playing more shotgun Zeke became less and less effective. Plus he's a thumper and thumpers need a lot of carries to get going. Well Tony Pollard has been taken away a lot of those carries. So like I've said before Pillard would be better without Zeke and Zeke will be better without Pollard.

So to me Zeke hasn't slowed down one bit. It's just other factors involved. But I still think we can get another thumper for dirt ball cheap in the draft. Just saying.

There are 20 backs coming out of college every year who can tote the rock and get you 4-5 ypc. But if that's ALL they can do they will never get on the field. The NFL requires much more from running backs. It's really high time people started to understand that. I do agree that the difference in their styles means Zeke and Pollard will thrive in very different types of offenses. I think and have said for years that Moore's offense is far better suited for Pollard than it is Zeke. This running attack requires the back to wait until the exact nanosecond the hole opens and then explode through it. It's easy to see that isn't Zeke's game. He's a downhill runner.. He needs to be taking the ball with a head of steam and attacking the line of scrimmage. The Cowboys are trying to have the best of both worlds but that means both backs will have to sacrifice some individual production if it is to work. So far Zeke and TP are doing just that. I was very impressed at some of the blitz pickups Pollard showed today.. He's been studying!!!

no I love it. Said already he played well. Why wouldn’t I like it? Unlike you I compliment good play when it happens.

he had some nice plays on the edge. Great to see. Once in a while we get a glimpse of the old zeke.

I have given Pollard praise all season long, as I did last season as well.

No you have you just blame Zeke for everything. To build up some false narrative.

both pollard and zeke play on the same team against the same opponents every week. One averages 2 yards more than the other. It’s not your boy so you can’t handle it. So you make up excuses like it’s Moore’s fault. Lol

It’s not Moore fault zeke played better than pollard today.

:lmao:

I knew this was going to happen.
You can’t admit that you did not like Zeke having a better game then your boy.
I’m done with you on this wasting my time.

In a way it is.. After all who else is to blame for the stupid poorly blocked reverse sweeps that they ran.

No taking off the Bears and Packers game I believe helped him.
Where last year when his knee was hurt he just played through it and didn't get the rest he needed.
Different ligaments, different grade of sprains!

Well last year was a full on tear. Which meant that if he landed wrong or took a wrong step it would start swelling and lock up on him. Hopefully that's not what he's dealing with this year. Time will tell.

Great game for Zeke. Happy to see him play well.

That being said, bad game for Kellen. TP coming off an elite game and you didn’t use him at all in the passing game?

All good - dub.

Last year was a PCL, based on the amount of time required, a grade 3. As reported at the time it was going to take the same amount of time to heal regardless and DRs assured him it wouldn’t get worse… so he chose to play through it. This year was a MCL, and most likely a grade 1 based on the amount of time required!

Everybody is constantly saying how Zeke lost a step and he's not what he used to be.

But that rest really helped him he looked very sharp tonight.

He may not be exactly what he used to be but when healthy he is all that he can be

I believe from now on we should do what's necessary to keep him healthy and if that means rest him a game here or there that's what we should do so we can get good performance out of him when we use him rather than him having just a mediocre outing.

Thoughts
This time of year most guys bodies could use some rest. In a perfect world the nfl would have another bye week say after week 15. Just a full week off for every team and let guys get some rest and heal. Won’t ever happen because it pushes the post season back a week but sure would help the players

Being zeke helped zeke. He had 80 against Philly. He plays the best in division games.

I think the shotgun was all that Zeke ran from in college. I think he did pretty well there.

I still say it is Moore holding him back.

Ding ding ding, thank you thank you thank you!!!! I have been saying that Scott Linehan and then Kellen Moore took over, they are the reason why it looks like Zeke has nothing left, the freaking play calling because they are so pass happy !!! Now that Jerry has let McCarthy have a say now on how the plays are called we now see that Zeke has a lot left and yes holding him out two games this season instead of playing through the knee injury like he did last season helps tremendously

You have a really low bar for greatness. He was solid, but far from great.

Not particularly a fan of KM, but there are passing plays to be made with TP, but Dak doesn’t go that way. TP was completely by himself in the left flat for a walk-in TD on the play Lamb didn’t get his heel down. Dak never looked Pollard’s way.
