While we did not run that well, our trio of RB's had over 200 yards from scrimmage. Dunbar looked very good and that is what I thought he could do since we got him. Randle was great on pass receiving as well. Mcfadden left the LB in the dust on his little crossing route. Those 3 will help the passing game with Dez out.

Truth. We need Dez, but his injury could be a blessing in disguise. Those short passes to the RBs with RAC was pretty amazing. The short pass might substitute for some of our runs. The RBs will still be contributing.

I was so impressed by that aspect of our offense last night. And it's like a completely new and different look too. People here have been calling for years to get our RBs more involved in the passing game, and to utilize Dunbar better. I hope they keep this up.

Romo did get extensive practice work with all the other WR's, TE's and RB's during Training camp and the limited reps in pre-season.

the problem spot last night was the receivers. They kept dropping easy catches that would move the chains. the RBBC did its job very well.

Exactly, I even thought the running game was looking better once Randle got comfortable, the problem was the flow of the game.

Murray was great last season and some of those reasons may not be duplicated by this bunch but a major reason he was so good last season was volume. If we were in a better position in the fourth to stick with the run, we would've seen our run game shine.

Think about this. IF and its a big IF, if Michael shows he can add something to this team who is active on game day? Do you dress 4 RBs? Do you sit DMC? Theres no chance Randle or Dunbar sit. Maybe you sit Clutts??

Of the RBs I think it's McFadden, but they're more likely to go light somewhere else I think.

Blessing in disguise? Now that is funny.

I was impressed with Dunbar, I thought they should drop him. He showed up last night. I thought both Randall and McFadden had their moments as well.

Not sure if it was Randle or Dunbar, but Romo hit one of them a couple times on the final drive. The RBs in the passing game was a key thing that stood out to me.

I dont like the current mix of RBs. Granted it's only one game but either McFadden or Randle needs to sit. Michael brings a different style to the mix. We need some power at RB to accentuate the strength of the OL's run blocking.

Dunbar appears to have a significant role so he obviously stays active.

This is why its kinda concerning. I do not want to go thin at any other positions. Having 5 RBs (Clutts) active on game day is no good. I do not think there is anyway you sit Randle. But I cannot see sitting DMC either. I could see them cutting DMC before they do that. Randle and Dunbar were better in pass pro last night than what I expected and that is the ONLY reason DMC is on this team. If they can handle the pass pro then in my opinion DMC is useless to this team. Cut him so the Vet can catch on with another team.

Repeating what I said in the other thread, but we only had 4 games in 2014, including the playoff games, in which we got that kind of production out of the running backs.

It was fun watching them move the backs out into the formations. Couple that with the two TE sets we're going to see until Dez gets back, and we'll see some good matchups, at least.

It is clear now how they plan to use the RBs.
Hopefully they get more carries for DMC and do not fall into a hole with turnovers.
