They lined up in the middle of the field before the anthem was played, most bowed there heads in prayer on one knee like Tim Tebow does. I saw a few that didn't bow their head but who knows what was going on in their head. I even saw one coach, I think Rod Marinelli that just stooped down and didn't ever get on a knee. After a few seconds of silence they stood back up, locked arm in arm and walk off the field that way. When they got to their sideline they turned around to face the field again and then once again locked arms during the nation anthem. I thought is was respectful to fans and flag but you make up your own mind.
In fairness I just don't think old Rod could make it to a knee and back up, he has a hard enough time walking

As soon as I seen old Rod, I knew it wasn't him not kneeling just him not being able to it, he gave it a solid effort though
Another option is pacifying. Not saying that's what I think was warranted (while ducking) but it certainly is a legit choice to describe their pre-anthem display.

They didn't need to say it. It's obvious that many had their head bowed in prayer. I understand you don't recognize a genuflect when you see one because that's not what a godless heathen like you does.
Most were in fully genuflect with head bowed in prayer. Don't let the godless heathens tell you otherwise.
