His kingdom got slaughtered.
They piled up on top of him to save him.

I know it’s just a figure of speech. “Finally might have earned his crown”... but... he earned it when he got those people to believe and follow him.

Now... I do believe he will try and hold rick accountable for his slaughter.

Hold Rick accountable?

I guess he could. Don't understand it though.

His tactics sucked. Had all his people in an open area that was dominated by a building that offered a great field of fire.

Obviously his crew was getting wiped out... one way or the other in order to advance the story.

Oh I can't stand that guy, has such a punchable face

One thing, they needed more lighting in that episode, some of those scenes were too dark
I agree some of those scenes were way to dark you could not tell what the heck was going on.
Even in the Negan and Rick fight way to dark.

I don't think it was this attack that resulted in Carl's bite.

I think it was prior. And that's what resulted in the letters and the introspection.

Might have even been in the tussle when he brought back the new character and they tussled with a small group of zombies... The filming of that sequence was odd and after it concluded it left me puzzled on why they seemed to film some of the sequence of Carl dealing with two zombies the way they did.
Yes he was bit when him and sadik fought those walkers in the woods.
I think the choice of killing Carl off is strange.I have not read forward of the show in the comics but i'm told Carl really evolves into a cool character so Gimples choice is weird.
I have heard the rumor that they are going to give carls story in the comics to that kid with the bo staff that was following Carol around.

I get irritated with the show when the seemingly implausible takes place. Which seems to happen when the writers force a situation in order for the result to be what the graphic novel dictates.

Take for example the situation with Maggie's "column" being stopped by the felled tree. No one gets out of their car. No one starts shooting at the Saviors... I'm thinking, "OK, so they're just going to sit there?"

Yep.

And then Simon does one better by letting them all go, except for the one guy he shoots (which was difficult to see because of the already discussed dark environment). No taking the "Widow" to Negan. He takes their guns, shoots one guy and doesn't even offer any coarse language.

The only reason I can think of for the death of Carl is that it serves as the impetus for Rick changing his mind on the killing of Negan i.e. Carl told him to be more forgiving (or something to that effect).

I agree with you completely on this and was about to write the same but I couldn't have said it any better.
And yeah Simon letting all of them go back to the hilltop *** ?
There was a funny part at the end though when Maggie calls that guy out of the pen to shoot him and Gregory says something like sure why does he get to get out LOL.

I think it's the type of show any more where you don't want to think too deeply about the plot lines or it'll drive you nuts.

Sounds like Carl's death didn't go over big with Chandler Riggs or his family...

As a side note... I never emotionally invested in the Carl-character. To me when it came to the original characters from season 1 (other than Morgan who wasn't around for a few seasons) Carl's character was pretty meh. Didn't think the kid's acting was anything to write home about either.

I didn’t say he would be right for doing so but not everyone is liking that Rick and his plans lead to people getting executed,

I don't think most people are watching it just to say it sucks.

I for one have been watching, hoping it would get back on track but after this season I am probably done.

Just isn't working for me any longer.

This is exactly where I'm at.

I've been sticking around because I have enjoyed the show so much in the past, but this current run continues to disappoint me.

I feel like I'm hanging on by a thread and subjecting myself to frustration in the hope that something will happen to turn it around.

But as the weeks (and now months) go by, it feels like more of the same old, same old. As if they're out of ideas.

And I'm not sure how everyone else feels, but it seems to me that the writers, producers, and directors have bought their own hype, and nobody thinks this show is greater than they themselves do.

I mean, did we really need 5 minutes of the show dedicated to showing every character's face? We know who they are guys! It's not as impactful as you'd like to believe.

And, despite a new catch phrase, it's easy to see that this is the exact same storyline being drawn out for an entire season. Just like many of us worried about.

And if you watched "The Talking Dead" after, Scott Gimble, the show runner, sat there on the couch acting all smug like he just split the atom by drawing out an arc that did not last long in the comics and killing off a character that many weren't all that invested in.

I started to, but turned it off after about ten minutes. My wife wanted to watch it and as don as she fell asleep? Click!

That show is more of what I'm talking about. People falling all over themselves talking about how "great" and "epic" everything is. All while ratings continue to plummet. Things keep going this way and the only people left watching will be the ones on that couch.

Shiva owns two implausible moments.

1. Season finale attack on saviors just as Carl is gonna be whacked.
2. Getting taken down and out by walkers.

Here's when Carl gets bit.

It occurs at about 1:24

It’s confirmed?

I think the problem is the viewers and their expectations.

It is very rare that you get a week to week, bang-bang/action Jackson season from any show.

This show is clearly built for long haul.
As is life, ups and down and lulls in action etc.

I watch it because I am a fan of the story they want to tell.

If you just start the episode with, “I better be pleased”... it won’t work,

Best thing for people not into the show anymore is.... not to watch. Find another show.

I walked away from THE BLACKLIST last year. I don’t continue to watch simply so I can say it sucked.
