Are you like me and wish that PI was called again like it used to be?

I'd like to see it called less due to the current spot foul consequence...too game changing IMO. At the same time it's hard to argue for them to change it to the college 15 yard rule. Defenses could really use that to their advantage late in games and it could severely hinder an offense's ability to go down the field. I think what we have is the best we can hope for but I definitely don't want to see it called more than it already is.
The Ole, defenses will just tackle guys late in games reply... Nice. How often is that happening in College? a 15 yard penalty is still a huge penalty. So, I honestly do not see DB's roughing up WR's on purpose because it is ONLY a 15 yard penalty and lasting very long in the NFL.

If they tighten up the Def PI calls, then keep in mind they’ll have to tighten up the Off PI calls, such as WRs pushing off at the last second to get separation or discreetly putting a hand on the defender’s near shoulder-pad and twisting him slightly to put him off-balance.

Someone will find a way to exploit anything on the NFL level.

Nobody ever thought there was a reason to say you also shouldn't be able to end a game on an offensive penalty until this Ravens play (one of the funniest play calls ever):

Ugh, even you followed us here? Don't you have other fanbases to annoy?

I think you followed me here.

Welcome. :p

I picked the Jags in my pick'em league...not saying it's a sure thing but I won't be surprised at all to see them win. Bortles doesn't have to be lights out, just a bit better than he was against Buffalo...but your D ain't as good as Buffalo's.

D isn't as good as most in the league, but their offense is a tiny bit better than Buffalo's.

Good luck in your Pick-em league. :D:D

Clearly your offense is much better than Buffalo's but at least the Jags can match their strength against your strength. I don't know what's going to happen but I won't be shocked at all to see a Jags win.

Pass interference like it used to be? That got me thinking a bit. SB Xlll Benny Barnes did not interfere with Lynn Swann but got flagged. 94 championship game Cowboys/Niners Deion Sanders did interfere with Michael Irvin and did not get the flag. Which leads me to believe the only good pass interference call is the one that benefits the Cowboys;)

The end of college football games are not like the end of NFL games....really the only way I can put that. Every once in a while you see a college ending that's very NFLish (thinking 2016 NCG) but not often. The rule would be abused differently at the NFL level.

I understand they are different mainly the clock stops on a first down until the ref has the ball set. I still don't think you'd intentionally give the offense 15 yrds stop the clock (not just unitl set, they could huddle) The throw to the endzone or FG would be much easier.

A player would have to determine while the ball is in the air that.... yep I'm close enough to interfere, but I have no chance to prevent him from catching the ball. It's worth it to give him a 1st down, Basically a free timeout,15 yards closer. So I will interfere to take advantage of it not being a spot foul. Maybe one in a thousand.

A player is much more likely to get defensive holding to take advantage of that rule because he knows he's beat with no help. Yes it happens, but rarely.
