Sometimes I wonder if Jerry ever feels shame

I often wonder the same thing myself. How in the world is such a proud man ok with continuing to embarrass himself in front of his peers?

Nope

Jones Not ‘Embarrassed’ By Cowboys, But Should He Be?

"Cowboys owner Jerry Jones voiced a number of emotions when reflecting on yet another playoff-free season following Sunday’s 24-22 loss to the Eagles.

The Cowboys have become the posterchild for mediocrity in the NFL, finishing 8-8 for a third straight season en route to losing the NFC East on the season’s final day each time. Since 1997, the Cowboys are an incredible (and symmetrical) 136-136.

So the question needed to be asked to the man in charge — the owner and GM who has final say on every aspect of the organization: “Are you ever embarrassed by the Cowboys?”

As honest as the question was, the answer was even more direct.

“Would you get embarrassed if you were standing in this stadium? Seriously?” said Jones. “The answer is no.”

The stadium???????

And with that answer, every Cowboys fan confirmed his greatest fear: It’s not about performance. Jerry doesn’t measure himself against other GMs and teams by W-L records. He’s not embarrassed by the team’s failures.

It’s all about the atmosphere; it’s all about JerryWorld; it’s all about the…”show”.

Jones expressed a similar sentiment two weeks back on 105.3 The Fan’s New School with Shan & RJ. Following the Cowboys crushing week 15 loss to the Packers, Jones was asked if he ever worried that apathy would set in with an emotionally tired Cowboys fan base.

“Not with games like the other day. That’s a show, if you want to look at it that way,” said Jones.

“Show” — a four letter word that should be eradicated from a GM’s vocabulary.

Dedicated fans care little about production or entertainment value of home games. The world’s largest indoor screen is flashy, but fans demand wins, division titles, and rings — or at least progress.

Cowboys insider Mike Fisher often reminds us to separate ‘GM Jerry’ from the marketing side of Jerry. But the truth is, we shouldn’t have to.

No one questions the effort Jerry puts into the Cowboys, but is it misplaced?

Maybe so, maybe not. But either way, things aren’t likely to change between the lines. Jason Garrett will return, and Jerry will remain the GM for the forseeable future.

In the meantime, enjoy the game; enjoy the stadium; and though you won’t escape the embarrassment of being a Cowboys fan…enjoy the “show”.

As long as we the fans keeping buying up every little Cowboys merchandise made. And keep making the Dallas Cowboys the most profitable sports team in the world. Jerry Jones should never feel shame. We as the fans need to take a hard look in the mirror and ask ourselves. When will enough of this madness be enough for us to stop buying or drinking the kool-aid Jerry is selling us.

I shed a tear every time they play the audio of that stadium quote on The Ticket.

I wish Timmy Mac never left the Cowboys Beat. Wouldn't be surprised if he was blackballed.

my thoughts exactly, you could tell jeri was seething when Tim was asking him about being GM
Timmy Mac used to shred Wade everyday in 2010 during his daily PC's. He's missed dearly these days. Can't believe how timid the DFW sports media has become. They used to have some bite but these days they are so easy on Garrett.

Dale Hansen, Jean Jacque Taylor and that guy from the Star Telegram seem to be the only people left that continue to dig at jeri occasionally, wish there was a never-ending, massive onslaught from all media and fans toward his sorry ***

Funny story about Wade Phillips, me and several of my buddies were eating at Houstons and were ragging all over Wade, when we got up to leave, I caught a glimpse of the person sitting in the booth backing up to ours.

It was Wade Phillips, I felt kind of bad because I do think he is a really nice, good man.

That's a funny story and good place to eat in Addison.

Dale makes it to one or two PC's a year these-days. Galloway is retired, although I heard him at one PC this year. DMN have hired some generic *** reporters the last few years. Not impressed with any of them since Breer. Even JJT has mellowed imo.

Which is the main reason why, after being a Cowboys fan for over 4 decades, and supporting the team through buying Cowboys paraphernalia, I told my wife to no longer buy me Cowboys gear. I will not monetarily support an owner that believes I as a fan would rather see a "show" than see the team be a force to be reckoned with and winning Superbowls.

What a freakin moron Jerry is. His ego has ruined this teams chances of becoming the greatest team ever. Jerry is happily letting the Patriots take that moniker.

I'm convinced Jerry is numb to shame.....as long as he remains #1 in Forbes, and there are cameras for him to jump in front of.....he's all good.

When he sits at those owner's meetings, does he ever feel shame when he looks across the room and sees Bob Kraft - a man who is going to his EIGTH Super Bowl since he last tasted victory.

23 years have passed while this man has played Madden with America's Team. A generation lost. Meanwhile Kraft has stayed out of the way, hired the best of the best when it comes to coaches, personnel staff, trainers, etc. and because of that his franchise is now the hallmark of the NFL.

They've equaled the Cowboys in Super Bowl victories, surpassed us in appearances, and now today they have come within one win of tying us for most playoff wins in NFL history. Think about that for a second folks...in 1996, the Dallas Cowboys had 32 playoff wins, the Patriots had 4. Yet they are about to tie us for first?

Shame.

People with extreme narcissistic personalities don't see things from that point of view.

Has any owner in NFL history gone on a run like Kraft?

The majority should all be embarrassed and hide their face in shame by comparison!

i love how fans think only Jerry Jones separates them from greatness!

What if the people he hired didn't get the job done? Then you'd be whinnying about Jerry not hiring good people like Kraft does

The Dolphins haven't been to a Championship game since 1992. Haven't been to a SB since 1984. Haven't won a SB since 1973. When I was growing up they were a top 5 franchise... consider yourself lucky

Hell, JJT is the one who was claiming only a few years ago that Jerry should give Red a ten-year contract. He's always been a Garrett fan, just like most of them. I'm not sure I can think of anyone who wasn't in his corner from day one, except maybe Newy Scruggs.

It's pitiful. They like to claim they're the voice of the fan, but in this case they're anything but.

Were going to be passed by others in the Jerry era. And he doesn’t appear to be in any shame.

Jerry is living out his dream running and coaching a football team without the direct accountability usually associated with success on the field and why he wanted to buy a team.

I just wish it had been the Chargers.
