Lots of potential, he seriously needs to stay on the field and earn that roster spot or we need to move on.

This has got to be a make or break upcoming season for Charles Tapper. I actually forget sometimes he’s even on our team. I was high on him coming out of OU and stoked to grab him in the 4th round. That said, be it due to injuries or otherwise, he’s yet to push for any significant playing time.

What’s the over/under on him breaking through this season and justifying a spot on the roster?

LOL...........tapper is a joke. The guy will never be anything in the NFL.

Why are some fans so focused on players "moving on" when the player is an NFL minimum wage type?

I prefer to focus on getting better players that will force the issue of lesser players moving on, but until the better player shows up, giving a young player a chance to develop is a minimal cost.

Tapper was a very good draft pick. He should be healthy and easily ready to go this summer. No reason to think about giving up on him yet. Nothing but upside.

Why was he a good draft pick? He did little to nothing in college. Another guy they, again, drafted on measurable numbers and are hoping to hit a home run with a project. Cant stay healthy and is simply too light to be any good. He has done NOTHING at any level and in his two years here. I see absolutely nothing to be excited about with Tapper.

It blows my mind how quickly posters here will quit on a player.

Tapper has elite athletic traits, very good size, great arm length, and plays a premium position. There is not a lot of guys with Tapper's physical tools.

But yes, he does need to stay healthy and produce this year. 5-6 sacks I think would be great for him as a situational rusher. I also think he has the ability to kick inside on passing downs. Could be a Justin Tuck type player.

Quit? How can you quit on a guy that has done nothing ever at any level? Hes a nothing and a nobody until he actually plays and does something. Anything you have on him is a hope or a prayer.

We can't afford to be impatient with high potential pass rusher. I'm sorry we just don't have that luxury when you consider the fact that we don't sign any high price free agency dline men. If your goin to play the grow and develop game then you have no choice but to be patient or keep recycling picks at the same position.

Hate it or love it but you going deal with it. I bet that.

Its baffling to me how you can sit here and say Tapper has "high potential". What in Gods name are you talking about? Where do you cats come up with this nonsense?

His college career was spent playing the wrong position. That was talked about at length in here at the time.

He has stayed healthy except for a broken foot. That has healed. His birth defect is under control now.

Now he has a chance to get back to showing that promise as he did when he was a promising rookie.

There is a ton of stuff to get excited about with Tapper and nothing has tarnished that. Top of the list is his ability to rush the passer. If you fail to see that, welcome to the minority. Go back and read the threads about him after he was drafted.

Showing promise as a rookie? When was that exactly? In OTA's a couple times when some beat writer said he looked good? Why do I have to go back and read anything? If he is any good, he will get on the field and make plays. He has never done it EVER in his career college or pro's. And as far as rushing the passer I see nothing but raw speed. When has he EVER been good at rushing the passer?

Welcome to the minority? Give me a break. All your doing is projecting your hopes and whims based on some article that said he had poor production in college because he played the wrong position. You bought that line. He will be gone after this season if not cut after he gets hurt again.

The Tapper is coming.

Lawrence, Taco, Crawford, Meyowa, Irvin. All these guys are better than Tapper and already ahead of him. He will be lucky to make the roster at training camp. One more ding and he misses time and hes toast.
