I definitely think you hit the nail on the head for the top 6. For me Eagles are the clear leader though. Then probably the Giants followed by the Packers.

I don’t know how to create a poll. But was curious what everyone one thought. (Maybe the guys can change it to a poll ?) but in your opinion. Who is our biggest rival ?
Giants
Commanders
Eagles

Outliers ?
Packers
Steelers
Niners
Naturally it's the Commanders, Eagles, and Giants. Packers, Steelers have a nice rivalry as well

Eagles has always been the most edgy rivalry. Mainly because the Eagles and their fans have been unsporting for the past 30 years. A real good v evil battle.

I think it depends on the age of cowboy fans. For example, I started following them in 74 . The degree of hate I developed in the mid 70s for the skins will never be outdone. Whereas younger fans probably will say eagles or NYG since the Commanders haven't been a factor.

My hate runs deepest for the Commanders, and it always will.

I honestly think Cowboys fans hate Phillys fans more than the team itself. I don't sense a true " hatred" for their players necessarily. Even now, what Eagles players are " easy" to hate? Lane Johnson? Maybe McNabb historically. I mean, their owner isn't in the spotlight. He gives one interview a season. There's also old articles where the owner, mayor, and players ripped the fans for cheering Irvins injury. Do I like them? No. But the hatred for their fans runs deeper than the players themselves.

The last ten years? I've despised the Giants much more. They've been the bigger pain in the rear. I'd argue they were the team that broke the Cowboys spirit for the next decade. They did it on January 13th, 2008.

Commanders? historic rivalry. But I'd argue the Cowboys & Commanders have been the worst run teams in the division for the last two decades. But, they are just...." meh" to me....I mean...does anyone consider them a " threat" to anything?

Packers? Yeah...they are up there for me. I really think these teams could be a top rivalry over the next few years. But, the city itself is unbelievable. Nicest people you'll ever met. The Cowboys may be popular in Dallas. But some may have no idea just how big the Packers are..until you visit. The city's financial well being and moods of citizens depend on how they do. Nonetheless, I'm rambling.

Steelers? I wasn't alive for the SB games. But, has there ever been a SB where there were at least ten or so HOF players on the field simultaneously? But Again, it's not recent enough to really pent up " hate" toward them. Similar to GB, the city's mood depends on the Steelers winning or losing.

49ers? I know they made it to the NFCCG @ Wsh a season later, but the " catch" , in my eyes, was the beginning of one dynasty
49ers), and the end of another ( us). The Landry led Boys were never the same after that. Does anyone else feel as though the Tom Landry led squads were never the same following that? Nonetheless, the 92-94 NFCCG's decided the SB. Pat Summarell said it best before the 94 game in SF: " the SB will be played in two weeks, the pro bowl in three....today, we'll play both!!". I don't think you'll ever see two teams decide a SB in three straight seasons....weeks before it was played. But again, it's more historic than recent.

Overall, It's the Giants, Packers, Eagles, and Skins in that order for me.

One thing all of these teams and us have in common is this: Passionate fans. I think that's what makes rivalries great.

Looks good, but I'd add the Steelers to the "personal" line.

I hate the Steelers w/ every fiber of my being. Swann, ****** Bradshaw, Stallworth, all of them. Jackie Smith made sure of that for me. He was the best player Pittsburgh had on the field in that ‘79 SB. Still hate him too.

We have not had sustained success as a franchise in almost 25 years, and rivalries only develop between two successful teams. For example, who are the Jaguar’s rivals?

Back when both teams were good, the Commanders were our in-division rivals and the 49ers and Steelers our out of division rivals.

Today? I guess our fans get amped for games against the Eagles, Skins and Giants - but I can’t say that, aside from their importance in the division, they’re really more hyped games than against anyone else.

Division: I hate the ***** Iggles. Everything about them. Epitome of rivalry.

I hate NYG too. They are the media darlings simply because all the (national) media is there. Their fans are arrogant too. They've hurt my fandom heart recently . I peruse and post on their official board and that helps stoke the fires of despite. The fact that Mara and Goodell are lovers plays into this too. Washington not so much. They're division foes for sure and because of that they deserve my spite and have it . Been a fan since 1966 so I lived the George Allen days but still I'm in the moment so they deserve division spot #3.

Conference: Green Bay ... hated the ***** Packers for decades. The recent stuff just stoked it. Don't have a problem with Fortywhiners.

AFC: Stealers ... not even close. I'll never like them and cheer against them in every game they play. They suck ... from Rooney down. Rooney is a special whiner too. One thing I'll say is I don't despise their fans quite so much . . . at the present.

That's if for me. In order of spite for teams on my list:

1. Philthy ... easily.
2. GB
3. NYG
4. Stealers

#2 and #3 are a virtual tie.

See: Tennessee Titans

Jags/Titans games from the mid-2000s were intense. Both teams were playoff caliber. I realize this isn’t the case so much these days, but you did ask.

The Cowboys must first beat the teams within their division to get be a factor in the post season.

Right now, the Eagles are the team that stands most firmly in the way of the Cowboys' success.

That scenario isn't new. In most of our recent history, Philly has been our main rival in the East.
