PFT: Gregory was not lined up in the neutral zone

Do you understand the difference between a sports commentator and someone who's played, coached or reffed the game for a living?

You could call neutral zone infraction every play if this is a foul. The issue is the timing of when they called it..and how it's not called many other times when players are lined up in the same area.

Enough already. Go fly some kites, boys.

So the answer to my question is no, right? Thanks for playing.

It’s one thing to miss an action call with guys flying around, but to make that call on Gregory in the neutral zone presnap is so bad that the guy had to be looking to throw a flag. That was not an obvious offsides that you can’t miss and throw the flag.

What's weird is Gregory is looking at the ball and he doesn't think he's offsides?

Perhaps because that violation is never called the way it was called. It's sort of like Ladouceur's snap that was flagged in Washington. His movement could technically be considered a violation of the rule that was used, but it is simply not called.

As I've said, unless I can go down and see it from field level looking straight down the neutral zone, I can't determine conclusively that Gregory either did or did not line up in the neutral zone. However, I don't think there are many examples out there where the call is made like this because officials ignore it unless it infringes on the offense, which would have been pretty much impossible considering where the LT lined up.

Look, after what FIVE penalties to keep them driving and finally score on us, also with a NON called OPI, I wouldn't call it "even" or fair. There were some blatant miscalls, and some non calls, and IMHO, most went their way, not ours. But, to add, we played a really sloppy 2nd half, I don't know what was discussed at half time, but both sides made way to many bone headed mistakes that seem to all come in the 3rd and 4th qtrs...we won, but I still think it wasn't near as close as the score showed it to be,

I think the officiating was fairly even, with several bad calls or missed calls on both sides.

Here's the photo again. Use the blue line as a reference to tell me where Gregory's helmet is in relation to the ball on the blue line. Is Gregory across the ball here? You like facts, right? Lol.

This picture doesn't give a good view. Only way to see and make sure is to be standing on the sideline and looking right down the los. Angles can make it seem he is farther than he is.

You have obviously never officiated a sport on any level in your life.

Every action an official takes or does not take inserts them into the game. One of the biggest loud mouths in sports is Bobby Knight. Even he said you must be good enough to overcome mistakes. It doesn't matter if they are yours or the officials.

I have, but only at the youth sports level. It’s a tough job. It doesn’t matter. We’re talking about a change in the degree of influence over the outcome of games here, and the change in the NFL is dramatically for the worse. And since it’s happening at the same time they’re actively structuring rules to encourage parity, the effects of the terrible inconsistencies with officiating teams is magnified.

The fact that coaches have to win regardless of whether or not the competitive playing field is fair is irrelevant. We’re not talking about reasons why one team lost and another won. We’re talking about why the game in general is becoming unwatchable.

Plus it matters where he was at the snap.... he could be leaning back

He definitely didn't go early and the LT was off the LOS by 2 yards

If the spot was at the 50, yes he was. If you look at the photo, he's the ONLY Cowboy over the 50, and by good margin. The blue line for the line of scrimmage cannot overlay the white line marker because it needs a green background so that too tells me the LOS was probably the 50.

Same thing I said. He is the only Cowboys player that far past the line. It's nothing but a bone head play by him.

We always get THOSE calls on us. Sure everyone is going to say we're bias against the refs.. It happens almost every game. I'm not crazy.

Even the blue line. Randy's head is in the neutral zone. They count that, right? Still, they let the left tackle line up a bit too far back.
