Well, Jerry, did you notice the DLine this time?

I will never argue about putting more talent on the D line but I will say that I think last night had more to do with the Rams offense basically knowing what our defensive front was doing on every play than a lack of talent. While watching last night I never felt like our guys were getting blown backwards as much as they were simply getting washed out of the play due to scheme. I don't have the technical vocabulary to describe it but their offense just looked like they were playing 3D chess and we were playing Connect 4. The RBs were gashing us like they knew exactly where the holes would open up and they were already at full speed when the hole opened.
Defense has to declare allowing offense to adjust before snap; Romo used to do that.

I would 100% bring in ndamukong suh on a 2/3 year deal if possible.

Plays the game nasty and is a force v run and pass..

He was a handful last night ..

I don't know if this has been discussed in another thread, but it was clear the d-line was gassed.

And did anybody notice the Cowboys deactivated Dorance Armstrong and Daniel Ross in favor of Xavier Su'a Filo (who did not play) and Lance Lenoir (only special teams snaps).

Dallas is used to a heavy rotation, but they only had seven active d-linemen last night and only three tackles. And one of them, Maleik Collins, was playing on a bad ankle. If anybody needed reduced snaps it was him.

Dallas might have lost this game when they declared their inactive list.

That's all good as he develops in 3 years time. We need help right now......
No 1st round pick.
1 can be a bridge to the other.
I wasn't aware that DT position was considered a premium position as far as general drafting - like QBs, WRs, and CBs definitely are... I doubt a high percentage of the best DTs were first rounders. Please enlighten me.

8 of 10 AP all pro DL this year were 1st rounders including 3 of 4 DTs..
I can't be arsed to carry on either...

Great. But you can't have first-round picks at every position. Dallas doesn't need first-round talent at DT - they just need capable talent at DT. No shot at an Ed Oliver-type THIS next draft.

Invest first-rounders at DE, CB, and LB unless some unusual opportunity were to arise.

You've been claiming that our DLine is fine/great/whatever since Joe Ferguson left, and yet we keep losing at key times because we're weak up the middle. Is there any chance you noticed this one? Or is it more CB's and LB's in the draft so we can beat up on the Buccaneers?

Preach K!

Lets sign a DT and draft one to develop.

Dan mentioned Grady Jarret - great target and the draft is flooded with talent.

Is a late 2nd round pick going to out produce Collins or woods? Maybe there is an argument there, but I couldn't expect more than what we have now out of what would likely be the 5th-7th DT taken in the draft.

In this draft, absolutely.

We need guys that can anchor, and get off blocks.

The problem with us targeting the quicker guys, is they lack power and don’t make a play unless they have a good first step and get into the backfield.

It dosent help when your players get held 7 times and the inky one called is when the refs know it was gonna get declined. Gregory was held constantly and lawrence was mugged.

Turn that around. Looking at super bowl teams as the constant, great DLines and average DB's are the way to go.

We have capable talent on the DLine. That works against the Buccaneers.

Great defense starts with DTs

Rams already had the best DT in Donald but signed Suh in FA

Eagles already had the second best DT in Cox but signed Jernigan last year and Ngata this year

We think average players like woods and Collins will do it for us

Stupid stupid decisions by our FO
