Will this be the most boring offseason ever?

Is anything exciting going to happen? Like a curveball that I don't foresee? Sean Payton hire out of nowhere?

The draft? No first round pick and we pick towards the back of the 2nd round.

FA? Maybe we bring in Earl Thomas but most of that money is going towards our own guys.

Surprise offensive coordinator hire? I don't think it's a coincidence that Kellen Moore has not been officially named OC.

Is there a trade we could pull off? What do we even need that would be worth pulling off a trade for?

The whole thing is set for a status quo offseason and another year of Garrett's offense trying to out athlete our opponents which we all know will not work.

In ways I hope it is quiet in terms of players staying out of trouble. Irving? He can do whatever he likes and I don't care what trouble he gets into. Just keep out of the news for this type of incident. You know who I'm talking about Zeke and Lawrence

The only news will be the signing of our own, the completion of the staff, and a few guys getting cut

I'll be "excited" if they do anything to clear cap space.

Releasing Hurns, in particular, means that they're going to make a move somewhere.

It's going to be a sad day when Sean Lee gets released though.

Knuckleheads are going to knucklehead. We'll be lucky if we catch a break with all of the usual suspects.

It didn't take Zeke long for his name to pop up in negative stories and it's still January.

Well, a new league ( not sure which one ) opens their season in Feb. I know, not the same, but can fill the gap until the start of free agency.

I see us signing a couple of FA thus bringing excitement to the nation only to be brought down to reality with a key injury and inhouse coaching change.

Yes, it will be, because the front office and coaching feels what we have intact is suffice and just minor changes, if any will be good enough. More of the same next year, only I suspect with the schedule, our little make believe season ending run will too be exposed and we will fall way back. This team needs a true franchise QB and it will be set for a run, but they will never make those changes.

I know right. I haven't a clue who DJ Franzen is but if he's all up in my face I'd throw the first punch. Zeke showed some restraint or Dak did some restraining. Who is this DJ Franzen thug? Another Tupac and to the Notorious B I G? I'd stay away from that group if my name was Zeke Elliott

I don't see them being very active in FA but I would be surprised if Booger stayed with where they're picking with their first pick. Too much opportunity to make some noise. I could see them moving into the 1st round. They need a quality draft, not quantity.

The last time the Cowboys didn't have a 1st round pick? 2009

no it could be way more active then years past so many contracts up I think 19? the big timers like Tank, Zeke, Amari, Dak, and others , who gets extended..

whos the OC whos the QB coach will Garett get an extension?

which FAs will come in etc etc no 1st rounder in the draft so it becomes a much more interesting draft as far as who we go after have to be spot on especially 2-4 rounds

whos our Backup QB?

BTW offseason started the day after our last game and have you not noticed these subjects are hot..

No 1st, JG is going nowhere, same expectations of an average/below average offense. Yeah I would say it's going to be boring until we see what the rookies are capable of.

It's hard to know this now, but I don't expect to be wowed. Obviously the draft will lose some luster without a 1st round pick, and its pretty likely we wont be major players in free agency chasing the biggest names, but just a couple of solid free agent acquisitions, combined with some better health next year, and some growth from guys like LVE, Gallup, Williams, Jarwin and Schultz would do a world of good for the team.

The great thing about this off-season though is we have way less gaps to fill than we did 2016-2018. I'm looking forward to watching more Dak/Amari now that they have a full off-season to work together.

Draft, I read, is deep at DT, so we should have the opportunity to get a good one. We need a big run stuffer.

I think this well be a great offseason. Plenty of cap space, possibly someone else calling plays. Only downer is no first round pick.
