They basically converted him from a $10 million dollar contract guaranteed to $10.5 million, only $3.5 million guaranteed and the rest on incentives.

In 2020 he’ll be a coach on the sidelines.

Glad they were able to retain him at a discount. Nice piece to be able to bring off the bench especially on crucial passing downs.

Source: #Cowboys LB Sean Lee has agreed to terms on a restructured contract that keeps him in a Dallas uniform for 2019. One of their leaders is back for another year. He’ll earn $3.5M but has a chance to earn his way back to his original $7M salary with incentives.

Negative? This is great! Lee is a very smart and capable football player. He has played at a pro bowl level for us when healthy. Hopefully the lighter load leaves him healthy all season. Position 1 on the depth chart for all 3 LB’s

3 of that 10 was already paid restructure bonus. It's 7 to 3.5 so 3.5 in salary cap savings.

Nope, only 3.5 in savings. 3 million of his 10MM cap hit was restructure bonuses from prior years, which stay on. His cap hit is now 6.5 instead of 10.
