Nope, only 3.5 in savings. 3 million of his 10MM cap hit was restructure bonuses from prior years, which stay on. His cap hit is now 6.5 instead of 10.

What happens if he meets all his incentives. Does it count against the 2020 cap?

It's crazy to think we can't even talk to all the free agents were gonna sign until tomorrow with how awesome this offseason has been so far.
Honestly, I think we can just shut this baby down until the draft.

It’s hard to even know how much this actually saves without knowing what the incentives actually are. He had 3 million in prorated bonus left, so add that to his 3.5 base. He will count at least 6.5 million against the cap and possibly more depending on if these are going to be LTBE or NLTBE incentives.

This is a pay cut not a restructure according to the way the terms are used in the NFL

Basically he got replaced by LVE so he's going to be a rotational player/coach in 2019. Works for me.

A player that exemplifies leadership on and off the field ........

now take the bubble wrap off in training camp to get him into game condition.....enough with the numerous veteran off days and limited play in preseasonn games trying to protect him to start the season when in fact he isn't in game shape to start the season and pulls hamstrings in week two or three...

He only played in 7 games and 21% of the snaps so most of the incentives will be on next year's cap but some will be on this year

We really need to see the details but they expect to save at least 2-3m on the cap

Now we're whining because he could make 5-6 mill with incentives? How about we start @ 6 mill and de-incentivize. Sheesh!!, what a bunch. Carrot versus stick dudes and dudettes. Hope he earn every incentive $

This all depends on what the incentives are.
If it's similar to wittens then it's not worth it.
If it's real incentives based on playing time, playoffs, pro bowls and stats then it's great

Lee was initially set to make $7 million in the final year of his contract, an amount the Cowboys were willing to part ways with. He'll now make $3.5 million in 2019 with an opportunity to earn up to $7 million with incentives. This also ensures he sticks with Dallas as depth this upcoming year. Still a tremendous coverage linebacker when healthy, Lee's injury woes led to him playing his fewest snaps (247) since his rookie campaign in 2018. He'll continue to mix-in sparingly behind the stout combination of Jaylon Smith and Leighton Vander Esch.

Well, I guess we can count on two rotational player/coaches counting for around six million or so.

Honestly don’t see him getting enough minutes to meet ALL his incentives, unless The Wolf or Jaylon get hurt.

Yeah that's why I want to know the incentives. Are they likely to be earned or not?
