Assuming by "we" you don't really include yourself. I assume not you.

ONLY the low knowledge basketball fans did that
It was possibly the most idiotic narrative in the history of sports.
Just 100% completely unfounded and off-base.

Good that it melted away, but really had no basis...ever.

The cynical nature of fans who are quick to label a player in a team sport is too frequent in my opinion. Dirk was a unique talent and changed the game. It was subtle the way the league came around to a big man shooting from outside. Now it's like every player drafted that is over 6' 10" is an outside shooter.

The post game festivities they televised had me balling like a kid. Up until Mark Cuban opened his mouth.

NBA lost two iconic players last night.

Stinks to see a Dirk-less Mavs and I'm not even a Mavs fan.

It seems like yesterday when we used to call him Dirk No-Win-Ski, then they finally won one....

Good times...

Who's the best player Dirk ever played with? Nash? Terry? 38-year-old Kidd?

That's what makes him so great, as Charles Barkley says. He stayed in one place and made it work here with what was here.

A 19 yr old - this season

Franchise is in good hands with The Kid and The Unicorn. I do wish he would have played 1 more year - with hopes of one more run in the playoffs with Luka, Porzingis, and whichever FA they can grab this year.

Man - what a moving ceremony.

As a die-hard and lifelong Hornets fan, I wish we had a scintilla of greatness in our organizations history like Dirk. What a ride.

Doesn't count. Dirk can barely walk now.

The point is, the Mavs had a long run of 50-game seasons mostly with a group of second-tier players to go with Dirk. He didn't bail out like Kevin Durant or LeBron James or Kevin Garnett to go chase a ring. He stayed put and did it the hard way.

The back has a picture of Dirk lol. I’m wearing this shirt at work today.

I remember being extremely young like in my early teens and having to share a bedroom with my Mom brother and sister after my parents split up and looking forward to coming home and watching Dirk play. It seemed like I would zone everything else out and want to do my school work while the game was on. I was glad he got to retire on his own terms more than being upset he was leaving!

I remember that championship team where everybody including center were good at shooting 3's!

I think the centers name was ref, or RAF lafrance or something like that.

Think they had Finley, Terry and others. I'm not as big a basketball fan but I do remember that team.

That was probably the 2002-2003 team that was the 1st with Dirk to make it to the Western Conference Finals.

I’m curious, I see someone all over the Mavericks reddit all the time with a similar name. Is that you?

I love seeing Fredbeard drinking a cold one. Obviously, it's strongly advised to avoid alcohol when on medication so here's hoping that he's back to GOAT Fredbeard status.

No.
I've been a season ticket holder forever, but I'm not on any Mavs forums

Cheeto is really old school. He is always wearing the bandana also. Got kind of an old style dieon swag going on but not really!

I cant fully put my finger on it.
Hes from the bay area. I actually think thats a Hyphy jersey. But yeah i get what you're saying. He actually reminds me of Cain from menace to society.

No no, I was agreeing with your post. Was basically saying the only time he has had someone else was this year...just too late.
