I wouldn't have done the draft the way we did, and I even like many of the players we took....but I just wasn't a fan of where we took some of them.

We'll see. It doesn't look terrible, but not great either.

The article never says teams around the league feel the Cowboys and Saints won the draft. Far from it, in fact.

They say they think right now that the Cowboys and Saiints are the two SB favorites from the NFC. But that's not due to "winning the draft". From the article, it only means that these anonymous team officials feel both teams helped strengthen themselves in the draft and that other teams didn't overtake them with their draft picks to change their minds.

This isn't from anonymous team execs (and I swear I'm not trolling lol), but here's a decent reprentation of what a cross section of --ahem-- "experts" feel about each team's draft:

That article was written by someone that follows the Saints closely and has lived somewhere near Louisiana at some point in their life. To bring up Saints and Cowboys is something Saints fans love to do.

The Saints giving up two 2nd’s to grab that center was a bold move cotton.

Winning “some games” hasn’t been a problem. They have won a lot of them the last 3 years - more than all but a few teams. Winning one particular game (division round of the playoffs) has been the problem.

I've always taken a wait and see approach to the draft or any hype during ota's or tc. Until they put on the pads and start hitting people it's just jocks playing in shorts. Preseason games begin to tell the story.

This article nails it. I really believe this is one of the best rosters in the league, and coaching has held the team back.
