I actually like Dallas' draft and I hate to bring this up, but here I go anyway:
The Cowboys could have traded DeMarcus Lawrence to the Colts for the 26 pick when negotiations weren't going well. And look who would have been there for Dallas: Montez Sweat. They could have saved all that cap room and had Sweat here for five years at a much lower rate. And kept him out of Washington, who got that pick from Indy in a trade.
The downside is also obvious- Lawrence is proven, Sweat is not. And the Cowboys had no way of knowing Sweat would have slid that far. Still, just something to think about.
