From what I keep hearing it was Kellen Moores pick. It was told he asked. I kept hearing this thru out the week.

Then I heard it yesterday, and then again this morning listening to some cowboy bloggers.

Didnt read too much into it at first but now I am wondering if it is true.

What could Mr.Moore be up to:huh:

If that's the case, and I'm just spitballing here, it sounds like he "won" over Kris Richard.

There's a lot of evidence and rumors that Richard badly wanted CB Isaiah Johnson from Houston, who went just one pick after Pollard.

And from my perspective, the Cowboys made the wrong choice. I believe they could have gotten Pollard much later. In fact, most places and rankings show him to be a considerable reach while the facts show that Johnson clearly wasn't.

I think they messed up here, but I hope I'm wrong and that Pollard turns out to be "Alvin Kamara " like Stephen Jones seems to think.

Yeah I would have picked Johnson too. I wonder did Kellen have a list of kamaraish type RB other than pollard?

I believe Pollard could have been taken later.

That's exactly what I believe too. If they liked him that much, they could have gotten him later. Missed opportunity on Isaiah Johnson and I'll be watching to see how he develops in Oakland. But I can't help but to feel his measurables make him perfect for what Richard likes and how he coaches.

there was some speculation that Gruden loved Pollard. He coached him at the SR bowl. So he could have been the Raiders pick if we went with Johnson.

Morning of the draft Moore was looking at his zits and when the light bulb came on and he thought: hey these zits are small and shifty and tough to ahold of, that's what I need, a small and shifty back who is tough to get ahold of

I saw that. But I discount it considering the fact that he had used a first round pick on a running back already.

I thought of that as well. Things we'll never know. Maycock did make a comment that they were drafting to acquire talent, they have a lot of holes on their team so one more weapon for Carr could have been a possibility. Gruden is all about offense.

Just the facts my man
Just the facts

Anybody expecting Moore to be a difference maker on offense this year is smoking something potent

I'm predicting that by the end of the year Garrett homies will be using marinelli and Moore as scapegoats for Garrett's failures

How do you know this when Moore's offense hasn't played a single snap? I'm just excited to see something other than a Linehan product

There is always no evidence to the statement "we could have gotten him later". I always laugh at it because it is so easy to say and impossible to prove. Look at the Raiders pick at 4 . You do not know what other teams plans are!

That is always based on scouting reports of guys who are not good enough at it to get NFL jobs!

Because he is completely inexperienced
You think any former QB can just walk in and become OC? Give me a break
5 years from now he may be a good/great OC
This year he will struggle but that's why Garrett and Jerry hired him

The perfect way to give Garrett an extension

Moore is good: Garrett extended because "Garrett did a great job mentoring a first year OC. Ready to take the next step next year"

Moore is bad: Garrett extended because "Moore was a first year OC, what else do you expect? He's learning. He'll be better next year"

What makes me sad is that your last two sentences is pretty much how I expect this thing to go. I want to believe Jerry and Stephen have Garrett on notice this year but I have multiple years of evidence where those two simply found enough excuses to justify bringing Garrett back. Barring a collapse in 2019, I expect not much to change.

I've been beaten down.

I would have taken the risk, especially over the certainty now that you would lose the opportunity to draft Johnson. This team has questions at cornerback, both now and certainly after this season. But they still have arguably the league's best running back.

Reach talk is just that, a reach. There are no fortune tellers in the draft as they proved from the beginning in their predictions. There's a very good reason they're called mock drafts.

Here's the deal, all it takes is one other team interested in a player they've targeted to take him away and we saw PIT, GB, PHL, WAS, NYG and ATL do that by moving up in the 1st and taking players off other team's boards.

If this is true that the young OC actually targeted Pollard, that's terrific news. He's not a KR pick, he's more than that and Moore already has some ideas how to use him.

I'd pass a drug exam test today, but I think Moore has to be better than Linehan was. Simply by being a more creative guy, most everybody would be. Linehan did less with more than anybody I've seen in recent memory.

I'm predicting that by the end of the year Garrett homies will be using marinelli and Moore as scapegoats for Garrett's failures

Let 'em. It won't matter. Both Moore and Marinelli are Garrett guys and Garrett hires. If they fail, he fails. And if they lose, Garrett is done as this team's head coach. Even Jerry Jones now realizes that.

The excuse makers can say whatever else they want and it won't matter. He'll be done.
