The good ole boys league.

Friends and family only in the NFL.

That’s why I say a lot of these coaches and scouts are overrated.

They also have the luxury of coming from wealthy (enough) football families so they can afford to take internships or low-paying entry jobs, which is often necessary to advance in this field.

Not saying anything bad about Kubiak here. They good news or upside is that he has been exposed to professional football (personnel and scouting) early on, so he could be really good.

Over 2,500 college players make themselves available to the NFL every year. Garrett has been here 8 years now. 2,500 times 8, equals 20,000 players. So over 20,000 college players and yet we've never made it to the NFC championship game. It's not about scouting. It's not about "X's and "O's." Its all about coaching these days. In game adjustments, creating and taking advantage of mismatches, personnel packages, player rotation, and situational football. We can have the best scouts in the world, the best team in the world, and still struggle because of that one piece: Coaching.
