Will Gurley's arthritis up Zeke's asking price?

The Rams knew Todd would have some arthritic problems because of his ACL surgery before they inked his contract. I wonder if this causes Zeke's agent to expect even more money for Zeke when they start their negotiations. And if they do ask for more than Gurley's $15m ($45m guaranteed), will that get SJ thinking more along the Franchise Tag route.

With what’ Dak is asking, he pretty much guaranteed that Dallas won’t be able to resign Zeke.

So you think Zeke will ask for less than what Gurley got?

I don’t think it will have a impact on the high price he is already going to ask. His agent knows that a lot of our Offense is running through him. If our draft pick starts to pan out then it give a us flexibility. We may try to tag him after the 5th year. I think a lot has to do with what happens these next 2 years. Are we going to be defending SB champs.

The Cowboys are unlikely to re-sign Zeke in 2019.

Zeke is under contract to the end of the 2020 season.

The Gurley reduced workload is just media speculation at this point.

I don't expect Zeke to get extended this year. It just struck me that if Gurley got $45m with a possibly snap limiting injury, then Zeke might be expecting more than the Boys want to pay.

If the team is predetermined to sign him... sign him before Barkley's extension PLEASE!
Stop waiting for the market to keep getting reset!

He will be expecting more. He will play for the 5th year option but will he hold out if they try to tag him.

I think the bigger worry would be Philly making us face him twice a year, if they wanted to repeat the Murrey savings.. I do agree that they hesitate too long on deals we all know they're going to sign eventually.

Cowboys should make Zeke play out his 5th year deal.

Franchise tag him in 2021.

Then let him walk in free agency so that his deal could still yield them a 3rd round comp pick.

I would see how this season pans out. He got himself in a pickle, why not see how that develops first. To me, he's elite but not if unavailable and if there's any uncertainty they should ride out the rookie contract (entertain the 5th) for all it's worth and wait. That's plenty of time to evaluate his off the field BS.
