I can't see it well on my phone but is this the the play where he comes all the way across from RDE to tackle Weber out in the (defensive left) flat?

It's a sack on one of the backup qbs, not sure about the tackle but I think it's ....... second look I'm pretty sure it was Hyatt.[/QUOTE]

I would like to have a clip of the one where he tackled Weber if anybody finds one. If not I could make one from the Training Camp live video.

Watch #56 DE Joe Jackson.

He is at LDE against OT Cam Fleming #75.

Jackson consistently show good power with good quickness and excellent hustle.

Keep in mind that Cam Fleming is probably the biggest (heaviest) player on the team.

blah blah blah... training camp.
August has to the worst month of the year.

Wake me up when he beating Mike Remmers off the edge and holding/establishing contain against Saquon. Dog days of summer

And this is why your not a scout. Mark it down...he's good as cut. He's got some horrible tape this training camp. Runs out of gas...then just looks completely lost.

He's got a shot to be Crawford's replacement. Could play inside or outside.

I want to see how Jackson fares against the ones. He's big, athletic, and hustles hard, but at least on tape at the U, he was sort of a one trick pony. Rotoworld put it best.

"Jackson plays like a rocket lacking a guidance system. He plays with force and has the pure power to blow up plays. If only he could learn how to consistently use it. He’s a hot-charger who’ll come in hot and run himself out of the play or over-pursue and takes the field without a clear plan other than destroy destroy destroy.

As a pass rusher, that played in the ACC. In the NFL, he’s not going to be able to blow fastballs by everyone. Somebody’s gotta teach him how to throw a change and curve. If that happens, he’ll be a draft day steal. If not, he’ll be a replaceable grinder."

So yeah, a Marinelli special. I can see how Jackson could beat backups with just a bull rush, but starting tackles are strong, athletic and have great technique. They're going to sit on his power moves and they won't lose a head-on strength on strength battle like some 2nd teamers will. As it stands now, he looks like one of those preseason heroes whose game won't translate into September. Rod is going to have to work on him for at least a season.

its camp folks. Temper your emotions. Logically, he has some major upside and if healthy he will get reps in games..but wont be a major contributor this season. Armstrong is that guy...and know what, Taco has improved. Randy may find himself odd man out later on if he doesn't become available. These preseason games are SO vital to these young ends. Can't wait.
