Why would you say that as a UT fan? What can Dak do that Sam can't??

I mentioned he's from Texas b/c that will help with what the Jones clan cares about most - $$$.
sorry but im huge UT fan and SE is barely better then Tebow as passer, hes a run first pass when he has to QB..sure he can win at the college level but I havent seen near enough as passer at this point.. Buchelle was better passer IMO hate to answer but Dak is better passer then SE..he doesn't try to pull down and run so much..see the Ravens thats SE as rookie if he even cracks a squad lol

I’m a Dak fan, but $40 million is out of the question. I would offer $33 million as the maximum, which is slightly more than what Wentz resigned for.

Yep.

Signing Zeke would be an additional $7 million this season.

Signing Dak would be an additional $33 million.

Sign Zeke now. Not Dak.
I seriously doubt Dak's hit this season would be $33 million for a contract extension that doesn't even kick in until next season.

He has 32 wins. Those arent his wins it's the team. 2 playoff appearances. The engine of the team is zeke again that's a team accomplishment. Rookie of the year. That was great but zeke was right there. His Tds and INTs vs Wentz. Dak has played in 48 regular season games. Wentz has played in like 28. That's almost half of Daks total games and he has 3 TDs less. When you pair head to head they leave that out. Goff has a SB appearance. Wentz would have but got injured. Rodgers, wilson, Ryan all have at least appeared in the super bowl. And were all MVP candidates. Dak really has never been an MVP candidate and hasn't appeared in an SB. 23 TDs ?! All of these guys have had 23 TDs by game 12 or three quarters of a season or earlier. Dak needs to play out this season and play well to ask for 35 mill. To get 35 mill he needs to THROW 35 Tds. I'll gladly fork it over if I were Jerry. That means he needs to get two TDs per game at least throwing wise. I'm sorry but 23 Tds a year isnt worth 35 million a season. If you want to add the 6 rushing tds then he needs to get a total of 36 plus Tds .

How smart did that turn out to be? The Vikings bought a weenie.
well given Cousins was there for every game put up great stats to at least give Commanders chance and seeing Washington's debacle of QBs last year and starting this year, not sure..cousins is basically Romo at least he handles his position, his numbers are not shabby , is he leader a gamer, maybe not, but dude puts up numbers and thats the QBs 1st job.. move the ball score tds..

thats not how it works you get the money ie bonus and salary right away essentially tears up this year and starts over..he would make most of the 33 this year against the cap..

Source: Dak Prescott has not asked for $40 million a year

The Cowboys and Dak Prescott apparently aren’t close on a new deal, but how far apart they are remains a question.

The Cowboys have said they have made what they consider to be “solid” offers to Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott and Amari Cooper, which would rank them “at least in the top five” at their respective positions. That would mean more than $30 million per season for Prescott.

NFL Media reported Monday, though, that Prescott is seeking an annual average of $40 millionper season.

Wrong.

It doesn't kick in next season. He'd get a massive signing bonus, and his current contract would be immediately terminated.

Let him play this year out and then trade WHATEVER is takes to draft the Clemson QB. I don't give a Rats Butt what you have to give up....it would be worth it.

Embarrassing comment.

Texas runs a pro-style spread and beat the **** out of Georgia's defense in the Sugar Bowl.

Their quarterback was their leading rusher, their coach is an Urban Meyer disciple and 68% of their snaps last year were read option, designed QB runs or play action read fake. For reference, no NFL team was higher than 29%.

Bye

Actually no, you don't tear up the old contract, you add an extension to it and play out the remainder of the old one, with that pay being supplemented by the bonus paid for signing the extension, and then the remainder of the extension kicks in after that.

Carson Wentz, for example, signed a 4 year deal, but he is still committed for the next 6 years because the 4 years is in addition to the two he has remaining on his rookie contract.
