I would only draft Barkley just to trade him as soon as the draft ended. That's just me though.
He'll get a ton of touches. Both rushing a recieving. His YPC will probably go down. Possibly by alot, but for me he should be a good source of consistent points.

Man folks in this thread don't realize the average yearly salary means hardly anything.

It is always fun to watch people who don't understand math try to interpret numbers.

It's all about the guaranteed money, since owners don't have to "honor the contract" if they want to get out of it.

It's funnier seeing some not understand the bad precedent Jerry is setting by caving in to players who hold out and demand top positional league pay when they still have years left on their current contract.

Funnier still are the people who think any player can do what Zeke is doing, as if they mean as much to Jerry as the NFL's leading rusher.

Really? Name them.

Gee, didn't Todd Gurley get a new deal three years in? Didn't he have another 2 years on his deal? He signed about 2 days before the Rams' camp opened last year and likely would have been in a similar situation as Zeke.

Just a year ago, Aaron Donald held out and got a giant deal to end it.

I literally just had to think about one team and what happened just last year.

If they could get it done before my big fantasy draft next Thursday, that would be greeeaaatt.

All seriousness, this is going about how I thought it would. Zeke has no real leverage aside from missing games and the team playing poorly as a result. Jerry was always going to pay Zeke, just depended when and how much.

Guys with two years left on their contract and "no real leverage" don't get offered extensions with more money.

What other Cowboy has done that? Just because one or two other team's players have done it, it's ok for ours to do it as well? Will you be ok if LVE (or others) does it next year?

Umm. Emmitt Smith.

Khalil Mack.

Geez, Cowboy history. League history going back a mere 11 months.

If Zeke isn't the highest paid RB in the league, than I would say Dallas won the negotiations. Zeke was holding out to be the highest paid back in the league. Reports are, it's less than Gurley, so therefore not the highest paid back. I would be happy if Zeke is signed for less than 14 million a year.

I get your point but if the contract isn't highest paid than Cowboys won.

This, the boys did not cave in.

Sorry, Coach, but I disagree. The Cowboys were 3-5 the first half of 2018 WITH ZEKE. Also, Zeke didn't do anything in the Rams playoff game loss when it mattered most. Couldn't even convert a game-costing crucial 4th & 1 conversion attempt needed at the Rams 30 yard line to help tie the game.

Agree to a point but the guys playing wide out at the time could not break free from my high school team db's.

Anything under 14 million would be a great deal all around. From a public opinion standpoint, the Cowboys got to continue their mantra of paying these guys as top 5, but not the highest paid. Its a good system.

But in the end, Zeke really got what he wanted. A new deal only 3 years into his rookie contract.

I think its great for both parties and I have no issues with him being the 2nd highest paid back in the league.

Zeke and Pollard, what a nice backfield. Moore will be chomping at the bit with all these weapons.

I will be interested to see if its 3 years or 5. And if it is 5, can they get out after 3 with not a lot of dead money?

Its not like it comes without risk. If Zeke doesnt care what he does before his big deal, he will certainly be out getting drunk and embarrassing the franchise now that he has his deal done.

No more 2.4 ypc playoff games Zeke. I don’t care if they have 10 guys at the LOS.
