Dak Prescott doing contract negotiations the right way, showing what it means to be a Dallas Cowboy

Problem is that we go no replacement for Dak on the roster. Rush and White are scrubs, they are not NFL caliber QBs. So we are replacing Dak with some unnamed rookie yet to be drafted in the future? That doesn't seem like a real sound strategy to me when the rest of the team is in a win-now mode.
That's probably why Dallas should franchise him a year and draft a QB. QBs aren't as hard to find as they have been in years past. There are still plenty of duds but I more of these guys are being taught pro offenses and the training they are getting is much better. BUT Dallas needs to use a first round pick on a QB and quit trying to be cheap.

Dallas has two year window to win a SB. This year and one more franchising Dak. If they sign him that's it. Their done and not gonna win anything and the team errodes away while Dallas is unable keep a strong team together. We have seen this time after time happen. BUT get a first round talented QB like Tua and they can keep everyone here and make another 4 year run.

Prescott doing contract negotiations the right way

by Joel Deering

While Ezekiel Elliott holds out for a new contract, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott continues to show up, work hard and prove he’s a team player.

As the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, Prescott knows he’s going to get his money. It really comes down to a matter of when he gets it. But that’s not the reason he’s showing up to Cowboys camp every day. Prescott has been there for his team from the very beginning, because he actually wants to be a member of the Dallas Cowboys.

The answer is in the original post. Dak knows he's going to get his money. I'm sure someone will correct me but QB's basically don't hold out in large part (I think) because they know they have leverage. Players at other positions need to create leverage to get theirs.

I am not buying "The Right Way" argument. Dak knows he needs to play. He will get paid, by someone, at the end of the year. The chances of him imploding with the talent around him are minimal. He is betting on himself, and the fact that QB contracts are growing at a ridiculous rate. Cooper is also playing it smart. He wants to see what Julio Jones gets, and he will DEFINITELY get paid if we can't sign him. Both of these guys play in positions that, while strenuous, are not necessarily the same as the wear and tear at the RB position. I am not defending Zeke, as I think the guy is a punk, but it is an unfair comparison.

"The right way," i.e., keeps me comfortable regarding the millions he'll get.

Until he doesn't accept the inevitable low-ball offer. Then he's greedy, selfish, and was never a team player who just wanted money.

Yep just wait for this offseason.

Remember when people bought that Dak wanted $40mill? People trashed him completely.

Romo CHOKED just like you are just now. Guess you like choking! lol
Romo did choke early in his career until he quit trying to do too much because of the lack of talent around him. Towards the end of his career he was as good as any QB in the league. I don’t choke and I sure don’t get silly supporting a QB that has a QBR that has went down every year which proves he is only getting worse. How much worse can he get? PPF has him ranked at 19th now and a tier 3 QB. Romo was always a top ten QB and many years he was top 5. The fact that you would even compare the two shows your lack of football knowledge. By the way, Romo lead the league in 4th quarter comebacks for several years.

I don’t think Dak would get paid as much with other teams compared to how much Dallas will pay him. Jerry overrates him too much.

Are you a Cowboys fan? You definitely sound like an Eagles fan. Dak has PROVEN that he is a better QB than Wince. The stats prove it, plus Dak is durable and clutch.

PS: Don't you belong in the Eagles Forum website?
Oh please! You don’t have any room to judge other fans because of their opinions about Dak. You are in the 20% minority that likes Dak playing QB in Dallas. The other 80% sees Dak for what he is.

kellen moore will ruin his chances this year .

You don't have any evidence to back this up.

And most of the evidence out there indicates he's going to do well at this job.

I mean, if you really think about it, you can just see he's going to do well.

He has the body and athleticism of a high school golfer. And he manged to land a job as QB in the NFL.

Not only that, he's a football junkie. He eats and breathes football. If you listen to him talk, you can see it.

I'm predict he'll do just fine and maybe end up as a HC before it's all said and done.

You're right about Romo choking early in his career, then playing much better in his later years. As for Dak being ranked 19th, it must have been from his performance last season? Tell me, which QB had the highest QBR throughout the playoffs last season?

I'll wait while you check...

PS: Guess which QB has had the most 4th quarter comebacks and game winning drives the past 3 seasons combined?

The other 80% are terrible at judging good talent at QB for our Cowboys. Make sure you stay off the bandwagon when Dak leads this team to a Super Bowl, ok?

he has 2 playoff wins, several game winning throws and drives...and you don't want him? Not sure what you are sayin or what you want. If not Dak, who would u replace him with that is better? Good QB's don't grow on trees.
Nah they dont they come out of the NFL draft
