Did zeke have anything to do with this? Did he demand that la'el be paid now? Just seems odd, did we expect collins to get a long term, like this instant? Before or just before zeke may get his multi year deal? Hmm I'm thinking zeke said something to the likes of "la'el needs to be paid, i feel comfortable running behind him." "If I'm gonna take any less then X, la'el needs to get paid." And so on so forth with demands that I can only imagine were said and denied or accepted by the Jones's...lol. Who knows :laugh:
people just speculate away and make it reality.

This is why- you getting ready to sign the richest deal in NFL history. If it's me, I want my OL set for the long term and stacked with solid depth. I'm willing to draft OL every year if necessary

You have the perception that he's a worse OT than what the Cowboys braintrust does.

That's fine.

What's done is done.

You could have said that the first time and avoided the debate. OBVIOUSLY, the cowboys have a different perception of a lot of things......and are usually wrong.

One of the most important aspects of a superior offensive line is continuity. The best ones have a core of 3-4 players that have been together for several seasons.

It’s not about how good Collins is. It’s about how good the offensive line is with him as opposed to someone new.

The effectiveness of an offensive line depends on real teamwork. It depends on timing, their movements are synchronized to tenths of a second. I think that the O-line players form a much tighter bond as a unit than any other squad.

Considering the Cowboys are in their Super Bowl “window”, it makes sense to keep this squad together.

We’v been hearing rumblings for several weeks now. Three weeks ago Stephen and Jerry both said they were working on the contracts of six guys, not just the three main ones like the media was talking about. A lot of people assumed LC might be one of them. I don’t know why people don’t listen to what they say and believe it. They have said multiple times publicly, they are dealing with guys who want to be there. Lael wanted to Be a Cowboy for a long time. He probably gave up several million per year to make the deal happen.

It goes to show you that "insiders" really have no clue as to what is going on unless the Cowboys want you to know.

What are you talking about. If you’d been listening to the right insiders, or just listening to the Jones’s, you would’ve seen this coming.

Excuse me if I don’t take your word for it and instead believe in Will McClay and the scouting department.
They are not infallible and they have brought in stinkers over the years. It's not all rainbows and sunshine. This is a big money deal for an average at best tackle that had slow feet. It's why he projected as guard coming out of LSU even though he played Left Tackle. He was properly put at guard when getting here and *****ed and moaned wanted to play tackle. Where he's been average or atrocious. We're making up for his draft day plummet in spades as he he doesn't deserve to be paid like he's one of the best RT's in the league. We're giving him the kind of deal that sunk us 10 years ago with the Leonard Williams,Kyle Kosiers, and Marc CColumbos of the world.

The price is good, the context is not. We're piling money on the oline, when we have high oline draft picks who can take over. Does McGovern or Williams ride the pine next year?

McGovern is as proven as the HOFer Matt Johnson. Also. Since when idn5 guys ever start all 16 games in the NFL? I’d rather 5 starters and two proven guys waiting to go in the game and be able to play at either spot on both sides.

I'd rather have pro bowl starters and back ups, but that gets kind of expensive.

Costs 10mil to keep Collins. That's a lot to spend to feel better about our backups.

It's done. We'll see.

It cleared upwards of $6 million on the cap, helped clear the way for Zeke. they were praising Jerry and Stephen for doing this on NFL radio.

^^ THIS

Some posters on here are terrible and lack common sense. It was to clear cap space. LOL @ the rocket scientist that said zeke made it a condition for him to sign that they sign La’el too LOL
