It cleared upwards of $6 million on the cap, helped clear the way for Zeke. they were praising Jerry and Stephen for doing this on NFL radio.

So, we get praised for kicking the cap can down the road by overpaying our underachieving RT. They could have done the same with Byron Jones and he's actually a rising player coming off a pro bowl caliber year.

My best guess:

McGovern got hurt which negates him being the future LG and moving Williams to RT or just stability.

The devil you know is still better than the unknown. TY might not be 100%, therefore more insurance. Last guess, he’s everybody’s best friend, very likeable teammate..
