He's going to be hard to game plan for.

His whole strategy is about being unpredictable and confusing players.

Yep. They already said they didn't run any new plays this game. We still have the same playbook. I mean in reality, most teams run the same plays. Only so many plays you can really run in football. It's all about keeping the defense on their heels, being deceptive and unpredictable. None of that was prevalent under Linehan. Motion, moving players around and keeping the defense guessing is a big key. We will see if he can keep it up. As time goes on, more and more film will be there and defensive coaches will adjust. The key will be can he adjust to those adjustments and so on down the line.

Exactly. Predictable is very easy to game plan for. Unpredictable is not.

If Kellen suddenly falls off a cliff, it most likely is because Kellen becomes predictable. Doubt that happens based on things he has stated along with his debut.

Also we were and have been very good offense for awhile "even being excruciatingly predictable". Speaks to the talent level.
Hard for me to see or envision where this goes wrong. All I see are positives here. There is a lot of talent around to keep things changing and everyone on their toes.

Think about all the college teams that wanted to beat Kellen Moore, but couldn't.. Because they couldn't predict what he'd do.

50-3 as a college quarterback in the NCAA. And he was not only a QB, he was also had a coaching role in putting it all together at Boise St.

He lost 3 games, by 1 or 3 points..

So, no one was really able to ever predict him well enough to beat him by more than 3 points.

And that only happened 3 times out of 53.

That should give you an idea about how predictable, or, rather, unpredictable he will be.

He's got this thing down.

Sunday was fun. It was a long time coming. My main question is how much film does teams need to slow it down? Does our Cowboys have enough talent to keep changing and keep teams off balance or are we watching a one trick pony? I need some film guys for this one.
If the Oline plays well the film will help but it won't stop us.

The nice thing about what our offense is doing is that we are using the threat of Zeke to freeze the defense and open up the passing lanes.
If teams want to sit on the pass then Zeke will abuse them. With the exceptions of a team completely over powering our O Line and shutting down Zeke a with base defensive fronts and sitting on the pass I don't know if shutting us down is all that possible.

Having a balanced threat is huge.

We watched the Rams send our defense into paralysis in the playoffs with all the motion and play action threats.
We have the talent to apply even greater pressure on defenses if we execute.
Yes, it's going be a chore for the oppositions Defense into shutting it down effectively enough, as I've an inkling feeling ain't nobody's seen the depths of this new O.C.'s playbook& they won't either, even well past mid season( as he's saving the best fer' last/postseason play calling)

The other thing is this.

Even if they do "figure us out," we have much better players across the board on the field at the same time than we've had in years past.

We're going to be OK.

This team will be very hard to game plan for.

You can't really double Cooper with Cobb and Gallup, and you can't really focus on either the passing or rushing game too much because both will beat you.

Not to sound like an ***, but Kellen was and still is a creation nerd. We are talking about a guy that dreamed of one day calling plays just sitting around the house, or using his spare time to just draw up plays and day dreaming of ways he would make a defense pay.

What you seen is not even the beginning of what that guy has churning in that brain of his. I wouldnt be surprised if every week was a new playbook for kellen.

I never worry about kellen. I worry more about the players PROCESSING new things in bulk every week that kellens brain is constantly spitting out.

Kellens imaginational brain vs the players.

Kellen is living his dream. That could very well spell trouble for the NFL for years to come.

On a side note also. I believe Kellen used alot of his time as a player and QB coach to study NFL defenses all those years too. The guy came in the league set on what he wanted to do and started planning long before this moment.

I think he could have cared less about being a long time player. He wanted to coach and call plays.

I was hoping these answers would be the common collective. Was hoping it was just not smoke and mirrors.

I think it would be wise to assume there will be some hiccups here along the way. It's inevitable when you have a first time coordinator and teams start adjusting to what you are doing.
teams adjust to what you're doing when you continue to do the same thing over and over a la linehan. moore is smart enough to throw change ups.

his greatest job is to create mismatches. he has a lot of talent with which to do this. he did it well against the giants.

I understand why you might be concerned, but I think those concerns are unfounded. It's not as if Moore has added three or four plays to the playbook and that's all that worked. There has been a fundamental change in the way the offense is being run. That goes well beyond just a few plays here and there and puts opposing defense's at a huge disadvantage given this team's offensive firepower and talent.

The Giants aren't a talented defense to be sure, but there was nothing they tried that worked. They were off balance from the get-go and it never changed. Whatever they tried, Dak and the passing game were able to beat.

Moore is just getting started. Once they think he has tendencies, he will start working off of that and shock them the other way. Its very very obvious to me that this kid knows exactly what he doing.

Garrett tried to move the ball. This kid is trying to attack and scheme the defense.

Garrett and attack simply dont go together.
