I think it was just easier to say that the feet couldn't move than to define what movements they could or couldn't make before the kick.

They didn't want them running up to the line before the kick or running laterally.

I didn't see the need to change the rules in the first place.

I'm fine with having the feet in place, given their determination to change the nature of a kickoff.

I'm objecting to the *rear* foot having to be one yard back. That's just a pain in the neck contrary to all other offsides calls. In everything else, it's the most forward part that matters.

I'm always baffled how guys who inherit franchises that simply print money find ways to screw it up.
Yeah if it aint broken........
I really dont get why EVERY year there are rule changes.
I think since they have a committee for that, they feel it is their job to change somethings each year.

Kinda like moving furniture around in a house, it was just fine, but no lets move this over here and etc.

A committee justifying it's existence. The source of the stupidity becomes clear.
