Don’t think it will be easy, but I see a Cowboys win. Need the defense to shut down NO, and I see us giving them trouble with our offense.

Prime time Cowboys should be exciting, Let’s go!!!!

Even with the win, there will still be those (Sarge) that say beating the Saints without Brees earns no respect. There is always some excuse to not acknowledge the Cowboys credibility. Will it take beating the Patriots in Foxboro to get some respect from those people?

I dunno. Beating any team lead by Teddy Bridgewater doesn’t gain you much cred as far as I’m concerned. It beats beating the Dolphins but........

The “A’ints” are 8-0 on Sunday Night Football when they play at home.

Awesome! I hope they talk about this a lot on the broadcast.

It was like during the Commanders broadcast when they were talking about Prescott's lack of interceptions. A few plays later guess what happened?

Respect is about what the talking heads say and some of that gets scripted so I've never really cared what any of them say, including the homers like Irvin. I don't care about respect from the media at all.

To me, respect is earned on the field not by winning but how they handle themselves as professionals and give everything they've got. Brady won but he cheated so I do not respect him.

My fanhood is personal, that's my team and they've been that through the good and bad times and the only time I lost respect for them was when they quit on their coach and each other and as long as they give everything they've got, I will not forsake them. So, I don't care what the media says about my team, who they pick to win or really anything they have to say about it.

I've never gotten this anger at the media because they may not like the Cowboys, who cares? This isn't like taking your new spouse home to meet the family and they all start ragging on them, who cares? Who cares what others think about your team?

This is like having your favorite band, food, song, movie, actor or anything else that is your PERSONAL favorite, who cares what anyone else thinks or says? That's yours and you don't have to justify why it's yours. If Nickelback, Spam, Taylor Swift, I Never Promised You a Rose Garden and Pee Wee Herman are your favorites, your personals, who in the hell cares what anyone else thinks? However, I would suggest keeping that from the others here as they're not near as tolerant as I am.

I will respect the Dallas Cowboys come Monday, win or lose.

One of the most common complaints seen on this forum is “the Cowboys are not getting enough respect”.
Most of us grew up hearing the old saying that “respect is earned.” Well Sunday night, the Cowboys have a chance to earn a little respect.

The “A’ints” are 8-0 on Sunday Night Football when they play at home. Even without Drew Brees, they are a tough opponent, especially at the Dome. A win Sunday night is an opportunity for the Cowboys to showcase their worth as a contender in front of a national TV audience. Hopefully result in winning the NFC East and gaining the #1 seed for the playoffs. This Sunday night is a chance to prove they for real. And not against the midgets, skins of fins, but a really good team at home.

Ultimately, “respect” will be earned in the playoffs. Regular season games are obviously important, but they are because they serve as a way to tee up the ball hopefully for a successful playoff drive. Playoff wins= respect.

Sure would be great to see a dominant Cowboys team make a statement! Step one toward that respect is Sunday night. Let’s Go Cowboys!
I think the players are hearing the rhetoric that they haven't played anybody, and go in seeking that respect.
This isn't a trap game, they know they will be tested for the first time this season.

I also think that the coaches have been restraining them. I think they are looking forward to getting unleashed.

can't wait to see what lame attempt the media uses on monday to "explain" why we won.
•no drew brees
•not as good as we thought
•not at full strength
•a lot of play-off disappointments are taking their toll.
•saints looked tired from traveling to west coast
•blah blah blah

it wasn't a fluke last time.
it won't be this time.

:starspin:NOT AN UP-SET:starspin:

Not only would you gain respect but you'd gain more confidence as a team that you can play anywhere. The stadium will be halfway filled with cowboys fans. The environment is going to be electric.

I hear ya....but at the same time, I also have seen this movie before, bought the T-Shirt, sold it in a garage sale....you get the idea.

Everyone says now this is the test that tells us who the Cowboys really are. Then after they beat them the excuses start rolling in, namely that Drew Brees was hurt. The Packers, though, that's the real test. Then the Cowboys win and it's because of Devante Adams turf toe. Then they face the Jets, where the Cowboys will be heavily favored. After the Jets, the Cowboys face the Eagles.

At this point, it's hard to say what the excuse will be but make no mistake, should the Cowboys win, the National Media will have something to justify disrespecting what the Cowboys have accomplished. It never fails. And the reason why is because ratings don't jump just when you say nice things about the Cowboys. They jump regardless of what you say about the Cowboys...so long as your are saying something about the Cowboys. And if you just so happen to be a former player that played for any team other than the Cowboys, it's probably going to be disrespectful. If it's a former Cowboys player, chances are it will also be disrespectful, because they don't want to be labeled a biased homer as is Michael Irvin.

My over-arching point here is simple: We really shouldn't care what other people think...only what the Cowboys do.

Since we have the most talkative owner in sports who has counted some losses as moral victories, acts as if being Forbes champion is like being a SB champ, and accepts excuses for 24 years of playoff drought, it isn’t surprising that it’s hard for us to get real respect.
Again, the only way to get respect worth having is to win- now and especially in the playoffs.
