Its only one game i agree. Going into last night if you told me we split New Orleans and GB i would have taken it and still will. Looking at last nights game i don't put the blame on any individual player. I'd call it an average effort offensively. However.......

The most concerning thing to me is how we lost. The mistakes and the conservative "play not to lose" attitude have been a staple of the Garret era. Yes we've won big games under him, but it seems every time we play with expectations we can't live up to the hype. I think we're all sick of it at this point.

Was it a tough game against a tough opponent last night in their place? Of course, but it was extremely winnable. A win last night not only sets you up in the division, but in the NFC as well going forward. That is whats frustrating. It was there for the taking but we couldn't get it done.

I think this Sundays game will tell us alot. 4-1 and once again NFC powerhouse with a win vs a quality opponent, or 3-2 and same old cowboys. 3 wins coming against teams with a combined 2-10 record.

I still can’t get past losing to Bridgewater as the QB. I put a whole lot of stock into that. I place extreme emphasis on the opponents starting signal caller.
And no, I don’t care about where played, opposing coach or the entire list of other variables that went into losing that particular specific game.

I guess I just don’t leave much gray area for interpretation when I consider the criteria to be considered a legit Super Bowl contender. I say you cant lose to back up QBs. You just can’t.

Pls spare me the Foles and/or Hostetler comparisons.

And to answer your OP, yes, a definite Same Old Cowboys reality check once again.

Same old same old very frustrating esp when we have for years been used to our problems being on defensive side not our offense unable to score points.
The formula is simple even a child can understand it ......STOP Zeke and WIN the game.
You're a numbers guy well we're 1-8 when Zeke has under 75 yards.
Anyone who understands the game knows the above has one culprit and he's wearing #4 ..........I mean heck isn't that why the QB position is usually the highest paid as its the most important position on the field!

You just can’t think like that.

Saying Super Bowl teams don’t lose to certain types of teams or players is silly.

Go look at any team that has won a Super Bowl and most of them lost to a trash team or a trash QB somewhere along the way.

Bridgewater is decent and they beat Seattle at Seattle just a week ago.

This.

It's hard to know who's calling what shots, but the game was a flashback to "failed policies will continue until results improve!"

I suppose it's possible that we were just calling better games because Zeke was not considered up to speed yet, and now that he is, it's back to the same old same old. Much like I thought they called better games for Kitna in 2010, but once Romo was back in 2011, it was back to the same old same old.

I've often thought that our "emergency" offense calls a better game than our regular offense.

True, I’m just having trouble coming to terms with both the schedule and opposing QBs on the remaining schedule.

Fully aware of all the different variables but if Smith is out for any extended period and the copy cat league of defensive coordinators use the Saints blueprint I believe scoring will continue to be a challenge. Left tackles are vital to offensive success in my view and especially Dak and this offense.

Defensively, the Bend but don’t break scheme won’t bother the better passers especially those who play with larger physical wideouts and whom we seem to be having trouble defending consistently.

Guess we’ll see.

I would like to see a defense that strives to not bend nor break. I.e., make offenses earn almost every yard.

Life is full of trade offs. "I want everything better" is of course true, but it's something you can choose. You can choose to trade off one risk against another.

I wouldn't have left Bridgewater in his comfort zone. I would have stacked the LOS against him to force him out of the comfort zone, knowing that that would increase the risk he would get a deep one.

Our Cowboys are an enigma wrapped in a riddle and yes I said it backwards because this team seems to do things arse backwards lol. Seriously though, something at least to me seems different in a positive way. We should learn a little more this Sunday and I’m eager to see what transpires. So with that being said I think it’s still a little early to tell if this story ends the same.

If we lose Sunday we’re not a true contender. Right now we’re in tier 2 in the NFC. Tier 1 is the Saints and Rams. Tier 2 are us, GB, Philly , Seattle , Chicago.

we got more talent than anyone in the nfc , but we still get outcoached .
Tell me how we have more talent than NO and LA?

they both have better DL and secondaries. We have better LBs.
The saints OL is right up there with ours. The Rams have better WR’s. There’s no way you could say we have more talent unless you’re a blind homer.

Tampa Bay have good ones in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Minnesota have good ones in Thielen, and Diggs.
